I also don't understand why I need to verify my address. Seems to work also without, except that I can't see my balance anymore in my LTB-Account which essentially creates another point of failure as I am more often have to enter my password to get access to the counterwallet.

Then, the wrong message-signing from counterwallet, is also not ideal. As advertised in the instructions, that 1 satoshi would be enough to send, to verify the address is also not feasible. In my case I don't even have enough btc in the counterwallet to make that transaction... do I transfer other btc there just to get my address verified... I don't think so.

Why can't we use the LTBcoins that we just earned? Wouldn't that make the most sense?

In any case, IMHO there is room for improvement.

Read the instructions again. It says right in there that a verified address is not actually required to receive LTBcoin. You will still get them when we send every week.

The counterwallet address signing bug is annoying yeah, hopefully they actually get around to fixing that soon.. it is possible though to temporarily import your counterwallet address into a blockchain.info account and then get a message correctly signed from there. I always knew that I get them. Still don't get the point of verifying the address. I guess I'll wait until LTB comes up with a feature that makes me really want to verify my address. Until now, it's a waste of time.

It can be for your own safety to make sure the server has the correct address.

But I gave them my address and I received and keep receiving LTB. So I wouldn't know how a verified address would change any of that.

@cryptonaut 3 days ago the devs working to fix the signed message issue said they have fixed the issue and should be released in the next update release. Here is the link: https://github.com/bitpay/bitcore/issues/488#issuecomment-54228973

The bug that was present in counterwallet with signed messages should be coming to an end soon if not already: This is an quote from the github:

"Bitcore 0.8 pre-release now implements this correctly as per @ryanxcharles; available as a pre-release on branch v0.8, which will land in #526."
