There are over 400 altcoins out there. Some are doing very innovative work, like Megacoin's Kimodo Gravity Well, that have been incorporated to several other coins. There are a large amount of coins that aren't valuable. What is the best way to keep the most valuable (feature rich, unique) coins on a list so readers can follow the "right coins?"

I think a lot of us are eyeing user-created-assets that represent a basket of currencies. The issuer basically takes in Bitcoin funds and gives back their token. They invest the Bticoin funds into the best altcoins they believe will succeed, and at the end of each month the profit above the initial is sent as a dividend to the holders of the tokens.
The person doing the managing would charge maybe a 1% fee in a competitive market, but for someone really good at this you could probably get away with lots more. It could be convertible for the basket of underlying currencies but that seems like a real pain so more likely it would just represent the value of future dividends.

I was thinking about something similar today actually. You can pretty much take anything and divide it into shares that people can invest in... How about crowd funding a mortgage of your house, where instead of your mortgage payment going to the bank, it gets divided amongst all holders of your asset token. As long as you make good on your monthly payments, the tokens will have value, and they can also be freely traded on a market.

I think you don't try to follow them all, you just keep up with as much news as you can and make your own list of coins you care about. I use http://www.shiliwu.com/ for launch dates, and a few of the exchange voting pages for up and coming coins.

Ahh, ideas like this are why I can't stop thinking about the potential of cryptocurrencies.

Nice cryptonaut great idea. I see the altcoins representing corporations as stock. If I think they are going to do well I buy their altcoin.

In Australia we have a requirement for compulsory superannuation. It is paid into by the employer and the employee gets to pick the fund. I'm waiting for the first Australian cryptocurrency superannuation fund then I'm going to be all over it.
