    @ggerrein

    @adam I had a very disheartening conversation with the swarm guys today that I think is relevant to this conversation

    @mjroncone I'll go ahead and admit that I am also invested in Swarm.

    They've been able to get a lot of momentum going in not a lot of time. Along with that, they've simultaneously garnered the trust of quite a few individuals. Some of those people are relatively prominent ones like Adam.

    It's a huge risk, for sure. But it's not the first time seed capital has been raised on an idea with no product or even prototype. I like the idea, and with the proper implementation think that it could be big. Think of it as betting a relatively small amount on a horse not favored to win. I'm looking for those 25-to-1 payouts.

    exactly my thinking. I think its a good bet. this should work way better than kickstarter or indiegogo

    Looks like the swarm crowdsale ended early. Seems they wisely stopped after raising 4000 BTC.

    Neither. They planned to end the round today, July 20 and they raised just over $1 million or about 40% of the 4,500 BTC goal.

    Ah ok. I was confused by their crowdsale page. How much the made available vs how much they raised. Two phases vs three scenarios.

    Yes they paused the crowd sale after the vote to first develop the platform further, then they will again begin the crowd sale.

    Does anyone have any opinions on swarmvote 2?

    I'm considering selling my votes.

    I am not really thrilled that the vote came out of the blue without community input. There were options other than the 3 presented that could have been more of a win-win. In my view since they did a distribution of SWARM based on SWARMPRE already, the further utility of SWARMPRE seems to be diminished and will only serve as a point of continuing confusion. Therefore HOLD makes little sense even though I appreciate the advantage of having more coin available for future issuancs.

    So then it comes down to BURN or ISSUE. I guess ISSUE is the best choice to keep the early investors on board. If they need to do another issuance on a prospective basis (like they did with SWARMPRE), then they need to make a completely new coin for that issuance.

    I liked their video showing their office and discussing the future. I think they are starting to come around to the fact that they will die without enthusiastic support of their backer community.

    Just for your or anybody else's awareness, Swarm has opened up a thread on their own forum regarding the burn or issue debate.
