Forums scrubbed.
When we get time I intend to integrate a system that uses LTBCOIN as a spam control and reward mechanism, we're almost there.

Maybe all forums have to become TCA with LTBCOIN as the token?

Here's the plan if you want to read it. We have a basic integration of "system credits" in already but would need to make some other modifications for it to work right.

I am fond of TCA concept and looking forward to see its further development and new use cases :-)

yeah it's brutal, these credit card scammer guys are relentless. Pretty sure it's not even bots as they are getting past all captchas etc.. some sort of sweatshop or something.

Adding a cost to posting spam solves the problem either way.

I didn't read the whole white paper, but I think the idea of "paying for posting" will go a long way in weeding out he spam posts that seem to plague this forum from time to time.
Also, in some Asian countries it is not uncommon to pay out a small amount, say a cent or a fraction of a cent for every post. So you have a bunch of youngsters cranking out posts all day as their "work", scraping together a few dollars while the spammers laugh their way to the bank as they boost their SEO ranks. The captchas become ineffective as the "bots" are in fact humans doing the postings.

As it stands now, I could really use a "Flag poster as spammer" button. I just flag three or flour spam posts (such as "university of ${CITY}") and hope the LTB admin kills the spammer's entire account.
Sometimes I send a private message to ask the spammer to stop spamming the LTB forums. I doubt the message is ever read, but doing it amuses me.

At this point I'm considering if it would just be easier to require first post or two from any new user to be manually approved by a mod/admin before letting them post on their own..

Some kind of limiting is needed as there are several new users spamming all over the forums. If all required is a user account, maybe look to what other forums do, limit the new user from only posting in a separate section, have the user wait xyz amount of time between posts, or as suggested, require some new forum token or some other kind of approval.
Maybe require the user to type in one of the weeks magic words prior to posting? This would be limiting to non-english users, but in this case I don't think the these Chinese spammers would ever bother to listen prior to posting. It's a cat and mouse game, and right now the mice are spamming while the cats are away.
