Any chance of the magic words staying valid for longer. I live is Australia, so we have a day less straightaway.

  Actually you have as much time as anybody else, we use server time (Pacific, USA) so for you it would be the next day when it expires.

  That said, i'm not terribly opposed to extending magic words to a week.

  Weekly magic words would work out much better for me as well as I usually listen to a lot of the shows as podcasts while I run. This means there are times when a show is in queue and by the time I actually listen it's already expired.

  Regardless, I agree with OP that you've done an amazing job with the site and content. Great work!

  Cheers Adam, A week would be better. I realize the time limit can't be too long, but I probably get to the show within the time period 1/3rd of the time, and thus miss 2/3rds of the rewards. Minor problems in the scheme of things though. Cheers.

  I actually like the short time frame. This makes it so you must keep up to date with the current episode and gives an incentive for listening to it right away, rather than just queuing it up. Because I can give you an example: Pretty much all of November and December I was so busy that I could not listen to the podcast. That also made me less active on the forums. I have been slowly catching up, but, I am not listening to those episodes first. Instead I am listening to the current episodes as they release and the ones i missed about once a week. That way I still get the magic words for these new episodes because i cannot for the old episodes, and while i listen to the episodes.

  And I like the way that Mad Money machine did it where there is ultimately 3 words throughout the episode so you cannot just skim through the episode to find the one single magic word.

  Right now I think we give 4 points per magic word, what if that amount declined over time so it was worth the full value for a week and once that timeframe passes it's still redeemable for a month but its a late redemption so its only worth 1 or 2 points

  Magic words are 20 points actually, we changed all the PoP point values a while ago. The idea being that it is the action which you can do the least of throughout the week and also involves are most valuable contnet (the podcasts), so it gets the highest reward.

  From the stats page:

  Article comment: 8
  Forum post: 10
  Unique page view: 3
  Magic word: 20
  Post "like" received: 0.05 - 5 *
  Active Referral: 10

  So perhaps we should make them 40 points for the first week and 10 points for the next three then 1 point after that. It won't be effective to farm but it'll still let us track listening over a longer time period than the 4 days we current get a distribution on.

  I think the weighting justifies its importance. Making it "harder" to acquire makes those who listen regularly able to be rewarded more. I'm not totally against a reduced point structure, but possibly make it substantially lower than getting the word within the 4 day period. Like, 3 points instead of 20 for example.

  Changing it to just a week or w/e would be the quick fix, but Im ok also with having it diminish over time. There should still be a final cut off they are allowed to be submitted though? Or maybe they can submit still at any point in time, but its not worth any points, or only worth a minimum of 0.5 points or something
