I've heard about bitcoins 3 years ago, reading article in online magazine. Was sure, that it will have no future (will blow up, like a Ponzi), but I was wrong, heh.

I first heard about Bitcoin in 2010 from this slashdot.org article: http://slashdot.org/story/138276?nobeta=1
I ran the CPU miner on an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ file server I had. It did 690 Kh/s (kilohash!) and mined 1 block in 3 weeks. I ran it for another 3 months and mined nothing. When the GPU miners started in 2011 I knew that was the end of CPU mining. It seems so long ago now, doesn't it?

I first heard about Bitcoin on BBC radio 4 in 2012. I should have done something about it then rather than in October 2013!!!

I heard about it in 2010. I was in an ancap and in to computer security back then. I don't remember when exactly I first heard about it though. i know I just thought of it as cryptographically secure with a fixed amount of coins and it was similar to gold.

I was very influenced by something I read back in 2010 (it could have been early 2011 though) on a forum and it went a long the lines of this -
"There are two kinds of early investors in bitcoin - those that understand what it will become and those that are just on board and don't really understand the potential"
Now, being a complete idiot and having known about bitcoin for a while before I read that, in my mind, I was thinking of an early investor as someone that bought in 2009 and early 2010. So, I read that and put my head in my hands and thought "I have missed the boat" LOL
Another problem I had is I watched this video -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQPSwA2Itbs
And I misunderstood something about mining, I thought the maxium amount you could get was the block reward, I think either 50 or 100 bitcoins at the time and after that you couldn't get any more, so I didn't bother with mining because that didn't seem like a lot at the time!
So, in 2010, when I was a big fan of bitcoin I ended the year with exactly 0 bitcoins. I watched all the bubbles and felt sick, then started to feel a bit better when the price went back down, always thinking I had missed my opportunity to invest. When the price hit $1000 I was absolutely depressed as hell LOL

Yes guys, but to be honest, i don't know bitcoin will touch (again) more than $1.000 at end years.
See, the mt.gox was falling. I read some article too, gox using bot called 'Willy' to pump bitcoin price.
Here, http://www.coindesk.com/bot-named-willy-did-mt-goxs-automated-trading-pump-bitcoin-price/
What do you think at end years??
I like opinion especially outside from Indonesian. hehe
