I know there are a lot of gambling sites that allow the use of Bitcoin, but I'm specifically thinking of games like Huntercoin, where your moves, human mining, and coin count are all verified by sha256 and scrypt miners.

Huntercoin is one large level, but are there other examples of clever games that use Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies with a rich user experience?

What if the LTBcoin had a mode that turned participation and promotion to look more like an MMORPG?

i.e. I'm thinking social sharer, graphics, audio, and blogger guilds. A certain amount of posts could make a blogger level up and a badge next to a user name could update accordingly.

I'm interested in gaming, but not gambling.  We can't touch that as a california corporation.

The problem is that the game has to work in step with the block chain.  So at best you are looking at turn based games where you can set several moves in advance.  I think it is coming down the line.

You're not thinking in color :) What about a game where the game keeps track and builds a list for distribution of people who conduct whatever action in the game you want to incentivize, then every block you distribute it to the player accounts divided by their occurrences of the desired action(s) in the time period.

That is a great point, you could definitely incentive people if they are going to get paid for their actions.  Kinda like how games currently give in-game credit for actions such as signing up for something or liking their facebook page, etc.
That said, one of your guests pointed out a few episodes while back is that you want everyone to be rich and successful at the end of the game.  If you have this real economy attached to it, everyone can't become rich without massive inflation that would make the currency worthless.

I think games should be just like real life, just without such consequence attached.   Do we like games because we can win at the same time everybody else does?  Is that important to the game being fun?   I think at least for many like myself, the attraction is a challenge that does not have life or death consequences.

Interestly, by adding monetary feedback to this you actually make it possible for this to be life and death (people who make money only from playing a game for example).
I think it is a fear, not a reality that attaching real market economics creates a shrinking-pie scenario, that's only true if the rules of your game are such that they can be dominated and generally in games they don't do that, unlike real life :)

    Why do we like games?

I think there are 2 aspects to games I enjoy.

    1) The ability to do something that is normally impossible or takes really long in real life.

Minecraft - quickly construct buildings, mine scarce minerals, and create tools
Second Life - get a reduced version of social interaction for the convenience found by running a program on a computer. The ability to script your own accessories and tools.

    2) Creating a world where I forget real-time. That escape, if crafted well enough, should make me want to re-enter gametime and leave real-time without destroying the relationships of real-time.

Secret Of Mana - Well composed music and lush forests were the background for many adventures. As time went on your tools and your abilities grew more powerful incentivizing longer gameplay.

I'm sure people here have other games that help them achieve similar results.

I have been working on a game with similarities to what your saying. The project encompasses both creation and simulation as in Minecraft and Second Life. I do have a prototype to answer some design questions but the project is in the modeling stage. You can see an early presentation at the Project Unbounded site. The cool thing is that people cacn contribute in so many ways. If your interested in being an early beta tester, you can play a big role in shaping the game world.

eddie. This is great. I will check it out. I figured out last year that 3d print designs can be exported into obj files which some video game engines support. Will your game support player designed assets?
Also will you accept cryptocurrency payments for your support tiers?
