Can content be hosted in a decentralized way?

I'm thinking of what the pirate bay is doing, creating a new protocol that allows a decentralized p2p network of users to host web content, not just torrents.  so content that you would usually see using HTTP and DNS, you can now run using a more decentralized fashion.

I'm also thinking of what etherium is doing with hard drive hosting; providing a decentralized cloud storage alternative where users can dedicate a portion of their hard drive to hosting content in a decentralized network, and then they are compensated by earning ether coins (or whatever they are).

Can the LTB network do something like that?  use the users' hard drives to host content, then reward them with a slice of the hourly/daily ltbcoin payout?  So it would work the same as everything else- if there are only a few people offering up their hard drive space, they get paid more.

Similar to the question I was pondering the other night: could bitcoins, or some other altcoins, be integrated into Freenet as a way to compensate those providing storage to Freenet, tip good content, or extend the life of unpopular content on the network? Freenet is a thing that already exists, and seems to be secure enough for the purpose, so IMHO it would be nice if re-inventing the wheel could be avoided.

I like the idea in general but don't think it is within the scope of LTBCoin, which seems to be more about the quality of content, not how/where its hosted.

I was just looking into a project the other night based on BitTorrent Sync called vole.Worth referencing.http://vole.cc

The reason i ask is that as the network grows, hosting everything on a central server will be less & less feasible. But i guess thats a good starting point, then we can switch to some decentralized solution later.

Seems like we should keep is simple as we get off the ground and then add in these kinds of decentralized concepts over time?- @CryptoCoin

I think you can combine these things with the incoming project--maidsafe.

Yes. If project SAFE works as intended (and I reeeally hope it will) I agree. The possibilities are staggering.

It is better to use LTBcoin for decentralised storage rather than using safecoin to do the job overriding the hassle of exchange and dealing with n number of coins.

I've already spoken with David Irvine at Maidsafe and Shawn over at storj, we're definitely pursuing this path once its feasible and I actually have a crazy idea for a content distribution last-mile incentivization layer :)

But as another poster said, the priority here is to actually do this thing rather than do the perfect most awesome thing. We are doing the thing, and will do more things later.

@adam- yeah, definitely get it off the ground for now. I'd like to see if ltbcoin succeeds, and if others do the same thing. this question was more looking to the future.
