I'm a big fan of building a miner with gpus(for Altoids) if only for the fact that even if difficulty shoots up in 6 months you can away turn around and sell the cards.
Asics have almost no value once the difficulty gets to a certain point. Where as a used video card can still be sold to a gamer even a year later.
