    Keep a close eye on some new things, I just did this http://i.imgur.com/tYcKFpW.png although small volume it was a nice gain. And this earlier move between 3 exchanges http://imgur.com/a/qMnNb let me buy 40k doge at 22 before it's quick rise to 40.

    Cloudmining just isn't worth it, esp since you can not control where your hash power aims, and the fees really cut in too. I targeted Cryptographic Anomaly for 4 days with my little 1.4MH miner and leased a little power with about 6000 doge. CGA at the time was having forking issues and exchanges were broken, diff was at 5K, CGA is at 20k a coin, I now have 320 CGA and CGA Diff is at 150k with a coinswap and version 2 coming. Giving me nearly 0.07BTC just for a few days of mining with 1.4mh and 3 days worth of doge at that speed, that is almost as much as my ASIC cost. If CGA gets back to 30k and some has sold at that recently that is full ROI on the miner just for those few days of mining. If CGA will sell for 30k it's still the most profitable coin to mine, coinwarz doesn't have synced information for it right now though. At 20k it's still very profitable to mine, but who knows what will happen with V2 coming. I just wish I had mined more, I spent a few days on it, then got off as I was risking mining into the void and getting nothing.

    I haven't had much to work with, but I've been getting steady small gains without messing up.

    Keep an eye on things, hit stuff when it's new, be ready to dump if things go south, but don't panic and sell low just over market drops when nothing is wrong with the coin itself.

    BTW: That LTCD trading was entirely bought with 2-3 days worth of mining at 75KH scrypt on a small 5 algo coin where no one is bothering to mine scrypt on it, so I've been getting a good 80,000 sat a day mining with my old GTX 550 Ti, I was doing better, but it had a block halving, and it's dropped to 2 sat a coin. Heck for a while it's SHA256 fell to mindiff and I CPU mined a good 100k sat off it, small amounts but still was profitable.

    I agree with most of the stuff, nice work BTW, apart from cloudmining not being profitable. They are a few very nice and profitable services which let you control your hash to a certain extent. You can point it out to every single coin there is but they offer variety of at least 10 different coins. Also recently multi algo cloud are starting to appear which ll avoid being hit by this first wave of scyrpt ASIC, like Titan.

    @maestro

    @cc5alive Invest small amounts in a lot of different things so you don't take on too much risk with any single investment.

    One of my current favorites is SWARM on Counterparty - https://www.swarm.co/

    If investing in altcoins, NXT seems to be a leader and there are a lot of different projects you can invest in on the NXT Asset Exchange (which is decentralized). Look through the list here (and sort by volume): http://nxtreporting.com/assetcap.php

    Thx for this suggestion, fully agree with you, differentiation is the key. Swarm, what do you invest it, the platform itself of some projects on it?

    When you invest in Swarm, you're also investing in a little piece of equity in the projects that offer equity by listing on Swarm. I'm not sure if that is ALL Swarm projects or only ones that decide to, but it's interesting to think you may be able to invest in all kinds of future projects through Swarm.

    @maestro Hey guys,

    I have been recently playing with my BTC. I have decided to use about 20% of my BTC holdings and invest them into different stuff, BTC securities, cloud mining, gambling websites etc. Do you invest and if you do, what are the most profitable investments you might recommend?

    Thx

    Tried going this route and was always disappointed. Now I am all in on BTC with some in LTC and some in Ripple. That's it. I tried buying some of the five publicly traded bitcoin stocks and just kept losing money. Also did the rounds in the alt coin world. It was a great place to make money for awhile there in 2013. Not anymore it seems. As for investing in cloud mining, gambling websites, etc I guess its all just too risky for me. Funny saying that given im investing in anything crypto...

    I have been around more than 3 years in the btc-community and I can only advise you to hold on to your bitcoin. Why could you possibly be ok with loosing 20% of your money? It is safe to say that all derivatives, etc... are loosing value over time so you won't be able to make your initial investment back. If you deposit, your coins for interest on other webpages... you are vulnerable to hacks, seize of operation etc... just to remind you, there is no free and easy money. Every single yield on your deposit comes with a risk and that risk is in all cases against you and you will most likely loose that money or at least risk a lot for a small yield of interest.

    I could tell you lots of stories how I lost many many bitcoins because I wanted have them work for me... it didn't work out that way.

    It took me a while to understand and maybe everyone has to make the experience themselves...ask yourself just one question: Why are you here and what do you think will happen with bitcoin? The answer most likely is, that you are here because you have bitcoins and you strongly believe they will be worth a lot more in the future. So then, why the heck are you not holding on to them?

    It is hard to understand that you will not make any money, by investing a deflationary currency. You just cannot apply the same way of investing to bitcoin as you would do with your dollars. Just think about it.. and maybe you will still invest these 20%... but at least you will learn something even though it comes at a price that hurts. Not only the 20% that your coins are worth now... also what they could have been worth on 5,10,15 years from now. Just my 2 cents.

    Congratulations to all of the people who already understood that, I saw quite a few in this thread.

    Good luck!

    Thank you guys on very interesting and helpful comments. However, for a people invested into BTC, which is by itself a risky investment, you seem over pessimistic.

    I am no noob, I have been into crypto for a long time and I am into investment banking in RL. I fully agree that 98% of crypto securities are total junk. However, there are a few companies, especially cloud mining firms which are totally legit.

    What does that mean?

    1) clear business plan 2) known owners and operators 3) address and location 4) lots of photos of their farms 5) visit the most important crypto events, get presented there, donate and support 6) personally been using them for a long time and reached ROI with most of them by now so it is possible to make money with them.

    Just to be clear, I am talking about 2 companies out of 50 which I have analysed and communicated It is not my intention to promote anyone here and this I why I ll not post a link publicly, if somebody wants it, let me know. The point is there is good stuff inside crypto world but it is extremely hard to dig it out. These good ones I m trying to locate.

    One of the most profitable ventures for me recently is ltcgear. It is a cloud mining service where you can get 160mhs scrypt for $850. If anyone is interested, here is the link: http://ltcgear.com?apage=7 In order to get this price, you need to use a anniversary discount code which is "anniversary1y"

    Let me know if you need more info.
