I'm particularly interested in times like these in buying futures. I think things will adjust themselves in the next couple of months and the futures prices for Bitcoin on ICBIT (http://icbit.se) are trading without almost any premium built in. If you want to take a calculated risk, make sure you understand what you're doing first, but people here may find it to be a valuable tool.

@rob Well, I just bought a little more Bitcoin, if actions speak louder than words.
My guess is either whales with lots of BTC are just cashing out some of their funds, or whale traders are pushing the price down, and then they'll push it back up, and they'll make money in each direction (seems there are plenty of traders who really follow and strengthen these trends). But that's what I always think when I see BTC going down w/o seeing news to give me other ideas. I wonder if any particular exchanges are leading the decline?
I agree with a lot of this sentiment.
It seems that some people are going to profit on this going both ways and those people also likely have the biggest stake in making sure that it happens.
I always think of the price of bitcoin as the price of bitcoin. I use mine as a currency versus pegging it to a dollar when I can and try to spend as much with merchants who do the same.

As a press release suggested, the dip in price might be due to Chinese investors freeing up their money to invest into Alibaba IPO.
Once that passes, there will be once again money pouring into Bitcoin market and the price will level up.
