Re: Ether crowd sale - who's in?
@mike The other point: The funny thing about successful crowdsales, is that there are no buyers left when the product comes to market because everyone dove in head-first. With no buyers (or at least not enough to drive up or sustain price) early purchasers dump on a thin market and it's a greater fool process from there. Not my cup of tea.
Why is this the dominant model in crypto crowdsales, a tapering supply that rewards the first funders? Wouldn't it be more fair if everyone received the same amount during the entire crowd sale period? I mean, everyone knows that early adopters in crypto tend to win (or loose) much more than late adopters. But why do project developers view it as necessary to artificially reproduce this early-adopter effect in their crowd funding models?

Re: Ether crowd sale - who's in?
@ademczuk Thankyou for the reminder, this looks as if it will drive up the price of BTC as I don't see an exchange where ether can be purchased with fiat.
Can only be purchased w BTC on ethereum.com
edit: I do have concerns about the following:
- Components of the network are centralised (in order to maintain the higher transaction speed)
- They have mentioned that this is version 1 and that v2 & v3 will look completely different They have received quite a lot of investment from VC's who will seek returns that may follow a KYC/AML whitelististing/blacklisting model in order to expand into legitimacy.
Interesting note on the VC. I don't know about the technicalities of KYC/AML or what that means. But I am curious about how the VC investments will be rewarded. Are they allotted ether for their investments? Which allotment is this included in? The crowdsale? The foundation? The founders?

Re: Dogeparty! Counterparty on the Doge Blockchain! Proof of Burn? Or Proof of Charity?
Proof of Charity sounds pretty complicated as described in @adam's post. Can anyone dumb it down for me? I might would be in favor of PoC if I can choose the charity I donate to, but I'm not even sure that this is how it works...

Re: Doge XBC coin (something)
So, how would it work to migrate LTBC from XCP to XDP? Would it be automated? Would we have to send to an exit address? It makes me think of scifi scenarios in which DACs autonomously jump from blockchain to blockchain in order to perpetuate themselves when their current blockchain is under threat.
Also makes me wonder about backups. Is there a backup of LTBCOIN that could come into play if BTC was compromised? Or, if bitcoin fails, does LTBcoin fail as well?

Ether crowd sale - who's in?
Hi LTB community. As you cryptoheads already probably know by now, ethereum has just launched the crowdsale.
Is anyone going in on this? Are you doing it as a long-term investment or short-term speculation? Just curious about what you all are doing...

Re: [AUCTION] [Adam B. Levine] [Weekly End Date Sunday Noon Pacific] Hour Long Consultation via Skype (High Bid 6500)
I thought @Adam mentioned sending the winners tokens for their hour (after winners send in LTBc), and that the tokens for Adam's time would be tradable. My impression from this was that there was no hurry to use the consult tokens we were bidding on. I had been hyping the value of these Adam tokens, and that the value of an hour of Adam's time becoming more valuable in the future. So I've been waiting to see that token arrive from the first round of bidding. Has the plan changed? Did I misunderstand the plan?
This was what I was thinking/hoping too. At the same time, I can see how @adam might want to make sure that he doesn't owe people a lot of time that they would claim at short notice at some point in the distant future... I don't really have anything to talk to him about now during my hour. I just bought it in the hopes that when I had a burning question about crypto I could redeem it and get a one-on-one.

Re: What is JEDI?
1 JEDI you have now.
Complete stage 1 to prove yourself. @markxmayer
The force flows, it does. Constantly back to the source.
Getting closer...
Sent it back, I did. Did I complete the puzzle appropriately?

Re: [AUCTION] [Adam B. Levine] [Weekly End Date Sunday Noon Pacific] Hour Long Consultation via Skype (High Bid 6500)
@william Hey @Adam, what's the cut-off date and time for this auction? The price is rising quickly, but I might want to try to get another bid in between flights.
@RobMitchell, you are right! Adam's time is worth bidding high for. So, I'll bid two hours at 11,500 each.
Sunday @ noon, so you have several days. This is a weekly auction.
I believe the high bid was @faceface who bid 18k for 1 hr. Next highest was me who bid 11.5k for two hours each. Time stamp on @kerneloops' bid was 2pm, and cutoff time was noon. Unless I"m jumping the gun, I believe I won 1 hr?
Yeah, I think I showed up late to the party (as always). Verify with @rob, as I think he'll be taking this under his wing -- though we'll still have to verify with @adam.
Yep, he's late - email [email protected] for payment info and to schedule your session. We'd like to book these out within a week or two of the auction so I don't stack up owed time.
Mmmmm... I had hoped to hold onto this for sometime in the distant future when I really needed it. It wouldn't be anything too technical or strenuous. Just a chat. I thought that I was going to get an XCP asset. Can I save it for later?

Re: Reusing old mining harware
@belltown Try selling your old ASIC on eBay. People buy even unprofitable miners
Why would someone buy an unprofitable miner? Out of ignorance?
