  • Re: 10k LTBcointest Giveaway! Post your counterwallet address and I'll send you coin!

LTBCOINTEST sent to the recent requests from LiveLife down.

  • Re: The Multiwallet is out on Testnet! Hop in the chat, I'll see you on the DEX

    Done, Tejano.

The reason for a enforcing a passphrase like that is that what would be a good password elsewhere (say 20+ random alphanumeric characters and symbols) is not secure for deterministic wallets which can be brute forced offline at incredibly high speeds.

  • Re: 10k LTBcointest Giveaway! Post your counterwallet address and I'll send you coin!

I've just sent 250 LTBCOINTEST to the latest requests from beachlurker down. Enjoy!

You will need some test BTC to work with Counterwallet, to pay for the transaction fees. Just google for bitcoin testnet faucet and pic a random one, so we're not all draining the same faucet.

  • Re: What are/should be the core areas that cover all of LTB's coin distribution?

Based on my discussion with Matt this week, let's try and flatten out the resource-distribution idea and first think of how a manual system would work, before trying to automate it as much as possible.
The sketch below shows the resources (credits can be LTBcoin or Proof Tokens), goals and ultimately the agents (collaborators, listeners, and so on) who will be rewarded for achieving those goals. The black arrows are 'pipes' that channel the resources and that are made to swell or shrink by the feedback, to allocate more or less credits to different goals as needed.
Resources represents the resource allocation for a specific time interval (week, day, hour) after which the feedback is used to (manually or automatically) adjust both the resource allocation for each goal (thick black arrows) for the next time period. The reward for each instance of a completed goal (thin black arrows) can be adjusted in a similar fashion and/or on the fly.

The sketch shows some lower-level goals aimed at listeners and readers. The same idea can be applied to collaborators.
The entire LTB resource pool for a time period is first allocated to top level goals (such as Podcast Shows, Blogs, Marketing, and so on) to form smaller resource pools for the lower levels, which then feed the actual goals.
Resources are allocated to achieve an optimal proportion of goals at each level, with time periods for feedback tending to be larger for higher levels.

    The Feedback Challenge
Coming up with higher and lower level goals and an initial resource distribution is probably the easy part, compared to using the right feedback appropriately to optimize the use of available resources.
Initially, feedback and resource optimization could be manual or semi-automatic and based on intuition, and on maintaining a desired equilibrium of goals at each level. For example total resource allocations for each goal could be manual, but if a goal is not being achieved often enough, the individual payout can be automatically increased based on some metric, such as time since the goal was last achieved or a moving average of time intervals.
Eventually, as the LTB Network shifts to a Proof of Value reward system, the use of resources could be optimized and automated further to take into account the actual value each goal brings to the Network, insofar as we can determine that.
    Thoughts?

  • Re: What skills do you have? What type of team are you looking for?

I'm a copywriter who once earned a computer science and physics degree and worked in the IT sector. For the last 10+ years I have focused on online marketing and on writing content for the Web and other media. This means I can bridge the tech/non-tech divide, explain complex ideas in simple terms and help with overall marketing strategies and ideas.
Here's a summary of my skills:Copywriting (Understanding the target audience and writing to sell products, services and ideas in a way that resonates with them -- I write all kinds of copy, from entire web sites, to targeted landing pages, emails and press releases.)
Blogging / article writing (Again, knowing the audience and how to speak to them is key to maintaining their interest.)
Brainstorming / incubating ideas (From coming up with and improving on concepts, to implementing plans and making things happen)
Community building (Maintaining interest and motivation among current members and giving them the tools and encouragement they need to reach out and promote the community elsewhere)Editing / proofreading (Including managing and mentoring a team of writers, helping with style and voice)Online marketing (While I'm not a marketer as such, I do have a marketing mindset and can help with brainstorming, planning and implementing marketing strategies using the latest tools and best practices.) Customer relations (This is the flip side to online marketing. Many businesses still don't realize how the Internet has empowered customers to expect and demand top-notch service and raise hell when things go wrong. I believe damage control should be Plan Z. Seth Godin sums up Plan A very nicely.)

Since Coutnerparty runs on top of Bitcoin transactions, you need some BTC for miners' fees in teh same address from which you want to make a transaction. I'm not sure, but I think the default fee is 0.0004 BTC.
Just sent you some, Tom. You can get more test BTC from a testnet faucet like this one https://tpfaucet.appspot.com/

  • Re: The Multiwallet is out on Testnet! Hop in the chat, I'll see you on the DEX

    Coins sent.
@lostdroid I had managed to buy but Adam removed the sell order because we're planning a real auction paid in LTBCOINTEST and we don't want anyone to buy a few thousand and come and skew the auction.

  • Re: The Multiwallet is out on Testnet! Hop in the chat, I'll see you on the DEX

I sent to jamiebeach and edd. I  think everyone's covered. If not, post below.
Adam's planning a real auction that will take place for LTBCOINTEST, so roll up and get them while they're hot.

  • Re: The Multiwallet is out on Testnet! Hop in the chat, I'll see you on the DEX

I sent 50 LTBCOINTEST each to loon2, crystalck104, jason0 and TomSherlock. Wait for them to confirm on the blockchain, of course.
I'm running out, but for the full experience, anyone can grab some test BTC from here https://tpfaucet.appspot.com/ (or any test BTC faucet -- use Google), burn them for XCP and then buy LTBCOINTEST on the DEX. When you buy, you probably need to click "overide market rate" and look at the sell order that exists and match that.

  • Re: [ANN] The Altcoin Observer - Looking for Writers & Researchers

I'm also very interested in helping out with the writing. And I agree with Tom about a holding a hangout at some point.
