Re: Editors' Communication Thread
@rywalk Hi Andrew,
Yeah - I wasn't able to actually upload them using the "Insert" function. When I tried to use this function the "Source" box was just a text box with no option to upload the file. Unfortunately the only way I was able to get them submitted with the text was to actually copy and past them into the text box.
Is there another way I should be submitting these?
I'm using Safari v7.0.5 - maybe it's a browser issue?
Thanks, Ryan
Hey Ryan,
It's not your browser. The system is so new it is lacking inline help.
To insert an image, you must first upload it to a hosting service (imgur.com is recommended) and then paste a link to the image in the "source" box. Make sure to paste a link to the actual .jpg file or whatever, and not to the imgur page.
You can leave all the other fields blank. The site will automatically constrain image sizes to the main content area but if you can keep images within 650 pixels wide max, that would be ideal.
I've reset your article status to "Draft". Please set it to "Ready" again when you're done and I'll be notified.

Re: [SUBMISSIONS EDITORS WANTED][5,000LTBc per column]
@bcohen So I understand the workflow better -- In the future I assume I will be able to give a second read after its proofread ---and that i will be notified in some form or another when it is proofread prior to my saying/indicating its o.k. to post?
Brian
@bcohen @rotalumis I should add that right now Authors cannot easily edit their articles once they have been posted (it is possible via Webmaster)... so giving an article a second look after its been proofread is helpful.
The workflow will be quite different in the future in that writers will be choosing their own editors and proof readers, working much closer with them and also paying them whatever is agreed out of the article's LTBC earnings. You can see what's being planned here and send in your comments.
I agree it makes sense for writers to give articles another look after the editing is done, even though it hasn't been the norm at LTB so far. I'm just not sure it's best to add this extra step across the board right now as most writers are fine with their edits and the current "manual" editing system is already quite involving to run, but we can do that on a case-by-case basis until we have the new system in place. In any case, I can fix stuff for you after the fact if necessary.

Re: [SUBMISSIONS EDITORS WANTED][5,000LTBc per column]
@bcohen @rotalumis I already use Trello over at Bitcoin Magazine. What do I need to do to flag an article to be proofread on Trello? i.e. what is the workflow process for writers ---is Trello for proofreaders only or are writers adding articles here?.
I have a newsbreaking article that will be set for publication by Monday evening. But it needs to be proofread.
BTW it would be cool if you could send me your email addy.

Once you have added your post in the blog post section of the dashboard and it's ready to be edited, you change the status from "draft" to "ready for publishing" and I get notified. The Trello is just a temporary thing for me to manage the editors until we have the proper system all built out.
The editing queue is empty at the moment, so there should be no problem getting your article out on time.
You'll find full instructions on submitting your post here. I've sent you an email with my address.

Re: [SUBMISSIONS EDITORS WANTED][5,000LTBc per column]
I am putting the call for editors on hold until I get working with those who have already applied. There will be other openings so watch this thread.

Re: [SUBMISSIONS EDITORS WANTED][5,000LTBc per column]
@optictopic Hi Adam, I am married to a brilliant woman who worked as a journalist for the Dallas Morning News and Fort Worth Star Telegram for 16 years, she has since gone on to teach British Literature and write screenplays. I told her about the opportunity to edit here, and she was wondering if the you are only concerned with grammar and punctuation (simple for her) or fact checking on top of that (far more time intensive)?
We don't expect editors to do intensive fact checking, but it is helpful if they are able to spot things that are obviously incorrect as regards Bitcoin. Maybe you and your wife could work as a team on this.

Re: [NEW SHOW FORMING - APPLICANTS NEEDED] NAME THAT BLOCKCHAIN!
Thanks @mjroncone. It looks like there are no boards, though, or do I need to be added to them? Anyway, I was just wondering because Adam asked me if I had seen the questions Adam Terwilliger wrote.
And enjoy the crypto fun out there!
