Bio:
From 2007 until present Robert has been building out MDFs and IDFs for multi million dollar companies across the midwest and has managed hundreds of new construction IT build outs for various project sizes from small retail stores to large shipping distribution centers. Also during this time frame Robert has serviced hundreds of general IT service calls dealing with everything from broadband, to network upgrades, and everything in between dealing with copper cabling, security, fiber optics, and any commercial grade IT equipment maintenance. In between this time, Robert also spent 1 year acting as a Northern Michigan Red Cross IT administrator and has dedicated a small amount of time doing Linux server configurations for a small Indianapolis company.
In 2013 Robert discovered Bitcoin and has spent every free moment dedicating time to advancing his knowledge in the field of cryptocurrency. From March 2013 until April 2014 Robert was a Bitcoin and Altcoin miner building up a mining farm consisting of 34 GPUs and 8 CPUs. Since mining on general computer hardware was no longer profitable for cryptocurrency mining, Robert co-founded FoldingCoin Inc in July 2014 with hopes of helping to redirect a large amount of the mining power that goes into altcoins to be better used towards Stanford's Folding@home project.
Since FoldingCoin was well received in the cryptocurrency community, Robert decided in January of 2015 to go full time in the Counterparty community. Since the beginning of 2015 Robert has taken on the following roles:
- Director of FoldingCoin Inc
- Community director for the Counterparty Foundation
- Host of the LTB podcast: “XCP Weekly Update”
- Webmaster of XCPassets.org
- Event coordinator to the Indy Bitcoin Meetup

Re: NXT enthusiast Marc De Mesel LTBc buyout offer declined.
@optictopic The usefulness of LTBcoin as a stake in the success of the LTB network disappears if all ltbcoin is replaced with NXT isn't it.
Absolutely. However NXT is just like CP where you can create assets very easily for very cheap. So heres how it would work with what im saying:
-
LTBC would be built in NXT with the exact same amount as it was with CP 500 million, and the same name LTBC
-
Then anyone that has LTBC in CP would send it to a "burn" address while notifying LTB that it was them
-
Then they supply LTB with a NXT address to send the exact same amount of LTBC in the NXT asset version
-
LTB sends out the same amount to that person so its like they never lost any
- Then future distributions are done in the NXT asset version and the LTBC CP are gone
But this posses many problems
-
All exchanges that hold LTBC would need to change
-
Some people might not know about the switch and could loss out
-
Some people might not put in NXT addresses in their accounts thus lossing potential LTBC payouts
-
Tokenly would have to have commits that allow NXT assets to use the platform
- and finally CP is better than NXT :)

Re: NXT enthusiast Marc De Mesel LTBc buyout offer declined.
@optictopic I came across this in the NXT sub-reddit. 4,000,000 NXT offered to Adam B. Levine to convert the LTBc token to NXT. It seems reasonable on the surface but Adam responds and explains why this is not a practical move for LTBn. Here is a link to Marc's offer on youtube, you can find Adam's response in the comment section of Marc's video.
Adam did reach out to NXT to develop on top of tokenly (https://github.com/tokenly), which would be a win win for NXT and LTBn both. Marc has since withdrawn his offer but would reconsider a negotiation.
It seems that Marc does not take into account the idea of the LTB token as stake in the success of the network itself. ImgurThis is very interesting, though i do not support it. I left my 2 cents in the comment. If anything he should have offered to possibly convert LTBcoin over to a NXT asset rather than just replace it with NXT

Re: Letstalkbitcoin.com site performance
@mdw i would never want to sacrifice the great features here :O I depend on them a lot. But like I said, its not bad, but it is a tiny bit delayed. But from the looks of it from your shot, it doesnt look like that much stuff is loading, I am not worried about it

Re: Letstalkbitcoin.com site performance
@francescu
@pooktwo Possible due to high resolution pictures?
Could be, as I've said one of the things that forum devs can do is optimize the images that take part from the website like the logo, backgrounds and many many more. With services like kraken.io imager != going to lose their quality, it's just an optimization to reduce their size a little bit.
As well, expiry headers are a good option to boost it too :P
Let's see if site can be faster with this little improvements mentioned on the 1 post!
I agree, I was simply agreeing that that idea is the most likely situation as it is for many websites.

Re: Letstalkbitcoin.com site performance
I have noticed that when first opening pages that it does work slower. I have tried over wired and wireless connection and the results are the same. I also have tried from outside my network and still the same. I am not sure what is going on, but its not anywhere near the unbearable point.
Possible due to high resolution pictures?
