  • Re: [AUCTION] [Adam B. Levine] [Weekly End Date Sunday Noon Pacific] Hour Long Consultation via Skype (High Bid 6500)

It must be a nice position to be in for you, Adam. I'm sure it gets annoying having everybody and their sister tell you about their new greatest project every minute of the day. However, it is also really cool to have that top down view on what's happening.

Not only that, but if you're an investor you have the opportunity to get in on the ground floor before anybody really knows about it. That in itself is worth it's weight in gold. Good luck on the bidding fellas.

  • Re: The issue with tipping

A system in which users designate tips that they want to send, then settle up later sounds like it would work nicely.

However, for reasons stated above it may not always be beneficial to settle up at regular time-based intervals. Perhaps a default setting should contain a threshold? For instance, in order for my tips to go out I must have accrued $10.00 worth of due tips. You could then continue on the time-based interval.

At that rate, it would also probably be necessary to have some way of pushing the tips out if an individual does not anticipate hitting their threshold anytime soon.

  • Re: LTB Conference/Summit/Expo

@adam Yes, we've been talking since the beginning of the year about doing one in Iceland spring 2015, but with so many conferences all the time we're now thinking it might be better (we = me and my wife Krystal) to do something virtual and focus on the content rather than the venue, sell virtual conference tickets (cheaper in LTBCOIN) etc.

I love conferences but man do I hate to travel.

I think that's a pretty solid idea. All I've heard about lately is how difficult it is to keep up with all the crypto conferences all over the world. We're a decentralized project, why not decentralize the conference?

Obviously there are a lot of hurdles but if you could pull it off, it would be a pretty cool precedent.

  • Re: SWARM.XCP - Swarm Coin.

I'll go ahead and admit that I am also invested in Swarm.

They've been able to get a lot of momentum going in not a lot of time. Along with that, they've simultaneously garnered the trust of quite a few individuals. Some of those people are relatively prominent ones like Adam.

It's a huge risk, for sure. But it's not the first time seed capital has been raised on an idea with no product or even prototype. I like the idea, and with the proper implementation think that it could be big. Think of it as betting a relatively small amount on a horse not favored to win. I'm looking for those 25-to-1 payouts.

Are we supposed to post a potential contribution or just ask for access here?

I'm interested, and will be working on a piece later today.

  • Re: First Proof of Participation Distribution Done! Well that worked. Mostly.

Out of curiosity -- when was the deadline for this week's POP calculations?

For instance, I was active this morning (the 5th). Should this activity have counted for this distribution or next week's?

Forgive me if this has been answered somewhere, I was looking around and didn't find a definitive answer for this specific distribution. The closest answer that I saw anywhere was that calculations happened midnight on Sundays, which clearly wasn't the case here.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Re: BTC Consumption

Wholeheartedly agree. Somewhere around 25-30% of my average day is spent interacting with bitcoin in some way.

  • Re: Investment strategies with the long term in mind

As in all cases, I think that it is a little bit of both. There are some great -- I mean really fantastic (imho) -- long term value plays around right now. But they are also the riskiest here while they are relatively unproven.

On the other hand, at the moment holding in cold storage also isn't the worst idea in the world.

If you are looking to do a little of both, I would suggest setting "percent of portfolio" targets for yourself. I view my crypto investments as a separate portfolio. For me, the vast majority of my crypto-holdings have been earned from investing in projects and so I would like to continue to do so.

You could do something like 50 percent of portfolio invested in projects and 50 percent held in cold storage. Obviously then weight the percentage of projects based on which projects you think are the most promising.
