  • Re: Bitcoin Journalism is like 80% crap and much of it paid placement

I swear I just heard a slow clap start somewhere after reading that. This is basically the reason why all the big media outlets aren't worth reading or listening to. That is, aside from being first on the scene for actual emergencies.

  • Re: Linux or Windows?

I've always been extremely interested in Linux. I guess that's my inner wannabe developer coming to the surface. Never quite got around to replacing the OS in one of my machines though.

I'm comfortable with Windows, and have pretty much mastered it. I even forced myself to figure out (for the most part) Windows 8 when I bought my new rig. However, there are definitely quite a few things that I don't like which Ubuntu supposedly fixes.

My primary concern for not switching over was always that every program basically has a Windows and Mac OS download/install, but not everybody had a Linux install. I suppose that isn't as valid anymore since Linux has significantly risen in popularity.

  • Re: Do Intentions Matter? - Saturday Morning Musing

Reading through your posts, we seem to be pretty similar individuals. We don't do moderation well. We get fixated on something and run full speed ahead, often learning through trial by fire. Our interests change semi-quickly, even when we are finding ourselves successful.

If I were in your position, I would do my best to stay as neutral as possible.

Think about it this way: when you first started learning about bitcoin did you immediately have a value proposition for someone? There are many of us who pursue the same ideals but just do not have the idea of what value to provide yet. I would submit that ignoring people who are not "immediately valuable" would be rather short sighted. At any given moment any of us could be speaking with an absolute genius that simply has not woken up yet. Many people don't become something great until late in life. If you had ignored these people at 20 years old, and then they turned out to be one of the most valuable connections you could've ever found at 40 years old, how would you respond?

Now there is a lot of crap and a lot of noise to sift through, I understand that. Avoiding the garbage and finding the value is one of the most difficult things for anyone to do and in fact I don't think that anybody ever does it perfectly. That is why you see people hire more help. They hire interns, assistants, secretaries, etc. Because there will always be garbage and never enough time for one person to sift through it all. However, if you have multiple eyes and ears trying to assess the value of someone/thing, then the probability of you ending up with gold instead of garbage is usually much higher and time spent sifting through it all much lower. There is a reason why we have accountants, lawyers, financial advisors, etc. We simply cannot handle it all at the same time.

I would add to this to say: be as neutral as possible, but discriminate when deciding where the bulk of your time should go. Cultivate relationships wherever possible, but cultivate catalysts mostly.

  • Re: Three Form Identity

Very interesting idea. In some other circles, I do avoid contributing to certain conversations that would open an individual up to extra unnecessary scrutiny. I would certainly make a donation to the forum in return for this ability.

The logistics of this, however, I am unsure of. it seems like you would have to go pretty deep into the core of the forum in order to build something like this out.

  • Re: [25k LTBc][EDITING REQUEST] Token Controlled Viewpoint - Genesis, Characteristics and Early Use Cases

@adam Thank you! Piece is done and locked down until the feature is out of development and we roll it out. I didn't know what this was at the beginning, but by the end I knew it was a product announcement :)

@mjroncone - Biggest contributor by far, 17kLTBc coming your way for the first editing and co-writing pass - Matt, 3k coming for the additions you made. Denise will be doing a final technical editing for 5k

    Cheers mate! Thanks in advance.

LTBCoin aside, the editing practice plus a sneak peak at what's in the pipeline was well worth it. Hope to work with you again soon.

  • Re: [25k LTBc][EDITING REQUEST] Token Controlled Viewpoint - Genesis, Characteristics and Early Use Cases

Just a note -- in the end of the article you start developing the idea that content scheduling could be a primary use case.

I don't particularly like this idea. It is limiting in a way that does not contribute to the community. I think what you would find in this case is a lot of people that say "screw it, I don't want to read this that badly anyway" and leave. Either that, or people who sign up for an account to read one article and never come back, especially if it wasn't the greatest article (which happens, no matter how interesting we are). Why would they want to be a part of a community that made them do work in order to read a sub-par article? These are precious wasted minutes.

  • Re: JEDI, How does this song make you feel?

It makes me feel like these aren't the droids that I was looking for.

  • Re: LTBCOIN Exchange Rate Widget

Oh cool, I'll send you a tip when I get back to my station as I'm out of pocket at the moment.

    Cheers mate!

  • Re: Question: I recieved 2 Amounts of LTBcoin today, Is that Normal?

Another seamless payout(s), good work guys. Do you happen to remember which of the two distributions came first?

I had one smaller distribution followed by a significantly larger one. I'm just trying to figure out roughly how my activity converted into coins.

    Thanks in advance.
