Sponsor everybody's favorite bitcoin podcast with LTBc in Episode #130 set to debut this Friday, July the 25th!
Current High Bid(s): 66,000 / 22,000 LTBc
Number of Bids: 5
Current Standings:

- Slot two: 22,000 LTBc from @coinssource for CoinsSource.com
- First Runner-up: 21,002 from @jratcliff63367 for Lauren Ratcliff's artwork
- Second Runner-up: 20,000 LTBc from @bitquickco for BitQuick.co
Other previous bidders: n/a
Last Results:
Slot 1 price: 75,000 LTBc from @coinfire for Coin Fire http://CoinFire.cf/
Slot 2 price: 68,720 LTBc from @bcohen for Brawker https://brawker.com/
Up for auction are two (2) blocks of forty-five (45) second intervals in this coming week's second episode of Let's Talk Bitcoin! Episode #130 will be released on Friday the 25th, and whether or not your business/project will be a part of it is up to you.
Bidding will start at 20k LTBc.
This auction will end at 2:00 PM PST on Thursday, July the 24th. Any bids submitted after that time but before closure of the thread will not be considered. A bid on the close as logged by the post's official time stamp (in this case, 2:00 PM) is a valid bid, however 2:01 is not. The top two overall bids in the thread will be awarded slots 1 and 2, respectively.
What exactly am I bidding on?
The two slots fill scheduled breaks in the episode. Adam will do his own research on your business/project and will spend approximately 45 seconds talking about what you do. Adam reserves the right to veto any winning bids if he feels that doing a live read for your project would not be mutually beneficial. No scripts will be accepted. If you want him to focus on a particular area of your project, mention it with your bid.
Please state your bid in LTBc along with what project you are bidding on behalf of. (a link would be nice)
Please note that you will receive no editorial control for your winning bid. The live read will be approximately 45 seconds but no guarantees are made for it to be exactly that length of time.
What if I'm the winning bid?
After you receive confirmation that you have won, please remit payment in LTBc to the following address: 16mtsJE29zY5Rw2c4XunVFeg7DmbGedS9M
Payment will be expected by 11:59 PM PST of the day that the auction closes. If you cannot meet this deadline, please state so ahead of time. If we have not heard from you or received payment by then, we will assume that you are defaulting and your slot will be given to the next bidder in line.
What kinds of people sponsor the show?
Lots of people! Here are a few of our recent sponsors:
- Bitofthis LTB Ad Broker - http://www.bitofthis.com/ltb-advertising-broker.html
- Coin Fire - http://coinfire.cf/
- BitShares - http://bitshares.org/
- Myriad - http://www.myriadcoin.org/
- ShinyBadges - http://muslimagorist.com/products/shiny-badges
- Brawker - https://brawker.com/
- Bitcoin Foundation - https://bitcoinfoundation.org/
- Crypto for Change Blog
- Bitcoin Megaphone - http://bitcoinmegaphone.com/
- Bitmain No-preorder ASICs - https://bitmaintech.com/
- You! (hopefully, anyway...)
But I'm new to LTB, I don't have any LTBcoin!
Well, you can purchase it from the private market currently either at Melotic (https://www.melotic.com/markets/ltbcoin-btc) or through a Counterparty Counterwallet (https://www.counterparty.co/ and https://counterwallet.co/)
There are also LTB ad brokers such as Bitofthis (@bcohen or http://www.bitofthis.com/ltb-advertising-broker.html ) which, as you can see, is one of our previous sponsors! They will use their own LTBc reserves to bid on your behalf and the two of you can settle up in whatever currency you agree upon later.
Feel free to ask for clarification on any of the above points, or any other questions you may have in this thread. I will do my best to respond as quickly as possible.

Re: How Counterparty Assets Make an Online Community Thrive
Nice article, you're extremely well written. Also, welcome to both the LTB community as well as the Crypto community at large.
As for the proof of burn, I have also had trouble understanding this. I know that it was meant to test how committed individuals were, but burning itself seems like a foolish idea. There are enough lost bitcoins as it is, and burning more seems just plain counter intuitive to me.

Re: Bitcoin in East Africa & Africa
@mic While it is great that bitcoin can enable the African continent, and I believe it can, it's also important to get the facts straight. Here is one misleading title & article
“One third of Kenyans now have a Bitcoin Wallet” – was a misleading title on an article about Kipochi.
I decided to set up this thread for discussion, links to materials and posts on the subject
This is great, feel free to go on a rant here. I've become increasingly interested in Africa and it's forward potential. I would love to hear from people that are on the front lines of this. In fact, I would even be willing to commission you to conduct a few interviews with people in Africa that both are and are not interacting with bitcoin. Let me know if you'd be interested/this is possible.

Re: [CLOSED][Auction] Air time on Let's Talk Bitcoin! Two 45 Second Sponsorship Slots for Episode #129 due to air 7/22. Auction Closes at 7:00 PM PST on 7/21! Current High Bid(s) 75,000 / 68,720 LTBc
Maybe you could auction slots at alternating times? One at 7am and one at 7pm... might be a bit much,
This is probably what the solution will be, though I'm not sure about 7am. I want to make sure that it's still a time where I can be available to confirm winners and that sort of thing.

@btcblue last bid before 6:59 timestamp wins or 7:00?
Last bid on 7:00 wins. 7:01 is too late
I apologize, I'm trying to work out times and whatnot that allow the most people their best opportunity to participate. What time(s) do you normally check out and/or wake up?

@mjroncone As we count down the minutes, I wonder if anyone wants to venture their estimate as to a fair USD value for an ad on the biggest Bitcoin/Crypto podcast in the world? With zero knowledge of what Adam got before, I'd throw out there $350 as a fair ad price. Any other thoughts on a fair USD price for an LTB live read by Adam? I think it will make for an interesting metric to evaluate the final auction price.
I think I read Adam mention at some point that he used to charge anywhere between 300-500 for a 30 second ad. But I also think they had some editorial control over that one. Not sure.

Re: LTBc, LTBC, LTBCOIN, etc...
@thewittyhawk What do you want to start seeing the coin referred to as? I probably like LTBc the best anymore.
I would agree, LTBc is the best as far as I'm concerned. Adam mentioned in today's B&G podcast that he probably thinks so too.

Last call for bids.. less than 10 minutes left in the auction. In case anyone else needs clarification, the highest two bids submitted up to 7:00 will be the winners. A time stamp of 7:00 qualifies. A time stamp of 7:01 does not.
