Hahahahah, sold!
I like how they went with the greasiest, grimiest guy that they could possibly find on the street to be the antagonist.

Re: Solution to 51% attack?
You're talking about severely limiting the revenue potential and adding even more randomness into a miner's income distribution. I don't think this would have ever been successfully implemented. Every industrial miner in the world would have rallied against you.
Expected income is calculated on an averaged basis. So for every day that a pool only gets 1 block, they have another day where they get 50. (Just to throw numbers in). So if you propose to limit that to only 29 in a day, then their potential average revenue shrinks dramatically.

Re: NXT
What Doge is building is familiar territory for many developers. Nxt on the other hand would require a whole lot more work which would essentially be reinventing the wheel, so to speak. That does not necessarily mean it shouldn't be done, but it definitely creates some unnecessary resistance.

Re: I (like) my posts
@ademczuk Don't you?
Absolutely not. It goes against the nature of the reason why PoP for "likes" was created, and that was to be generous to someone else. It's intended to be similar to a tip feature as every time you like a post they get a little more, and therefore you get a little less.

Re: Refer a friend and get more LTBcoin!
Can we have some insight on how much we estimate this will affect PoP? Is there a certain portion of the overall fund attributed to it?
(Not the biggest fan of referral programs. It seems to me like they get gamed a lot and everyone else suffers.)

Re: Ether crowd sale - who's in?
I'm legitimately battling with myself to decide whether or not I will contribute. I want to -- because I am genuinely interested in the project and think that it could do amazing things for contract technology.
However, I am also put off by the terms of the sale. There is no cap on the amount of Ether that will be created in the sale with the exception that no individual or group will be allowed to have more than 12.5% of the total Ether generated in the genesis sale. Which means: endless dilution. In this case, if there is too much Ether generated in the sale then it may become more profitable to invest the same amount of money into mining instead -- as the amount of Ether generated each year through mining is going to be a function of the genesis sale.. or so they claim in their presale document.
The other point: The funny thing about successful crowdsales, is that there are no buyers left when the product comes to market because everyone dove in head-first. With no buyers (or at least not enough to drive up or sustain price) early purchasers dump on a thin market and it's a greater fool process from there. Not my cup of tea.
So -- we'll see. No matter what we have 14 days to still obtain the original sale price. I'll be interested to see how much they raise in that timeframe. I would most likely not invest if I could not get at least the original 2000Eth/BTC.

Re: Whitepaper.NXT
Cool! Thanks for the share. I wouldn't have run into this otherwise, and I have always wanted to get the deeper explanation for how nxt operates without scouring the forums and piecing it together.

Re: Dogeparty! Counterparty on the Doge Blockchain! Proof of Burn? Or Proof of Charity?
I'll start out by saying that originally I was 100% in favor of PoC for any number of reasons.
However, and I was not a fan of PoB for bitcoin, I think PoB may actually be the more elegant solution for Doge.
First of all, I have heard that the massive number of Dogecoins is a large part of the reason that the network is dying. They were generated so quickly that the block rewards have halved too quickly. Due to that, there is still a lot of inflationary potential in the network but the rewards are too small for the deflationary price increases to settle in and balance this out, thus making mining economically feasible.
Perhaps, then, if a large number of Dogecoins were to be burned in an effort to establish Dogeparty, this would help to limit the supply further. This would help to push the price up in the short-term which should bring more miners to the table and give the network more time to figure out why it brings value to miners. it could potentially bring price up far enough that the inflationary/deflationary nature of the coin balances back out again and the chain sustains itself.
These are terribly formed thoughts. Written in the narrative because I'm in a hurry. So sorry in advance!

Re: Doge XBC coin (something)
I think one thing to consider is that people want Doge to succeed. They want it to succeed for the same reasons that it was succeeding in the first place. The issue is that it has become no longer economically feasible/advantageous to support the Doge network for miners or even just regular users to become miners.
I think that adding this extra layer may help to prompt the return of miners, if there is an economic reward for doing so. As mentioned, this may require the creation of a new asset on top of Dogeparty that rewards miners based on their contributions. However, I am not exactly sure how one would give an asset like that sustainable value. One of the issues with Dogecoin that I've heard, is that so many coins were issued in such a hurry that the block reward halvings are carving out the majority of miner's profits too quickly. So if you were to try and issue an asset that essentially gave extra Dogecoins out, you would run into the same issues not too far into the future.
