Re: "Flooding" of the market
@thewittyhawk So I've never really traded all that much myself but I started learning some when I got into bitcoin. I'm trying to understand the economics behind the LTBc distribution.
What happens to the market when the weekly distribution is sent? I know with bitcoin, at least the distribution of new coins is about every 10 minutes so flooding the market would require someone to slowly gain enough coins to make an effect or to just have a large bankroll. The way LTBc is distributed, everyone is getting all of their coins for the week all at the same time. It seems to me this would cause the price to crash at an almost predictable rate if we assume a certain percentage of users, or percentage of each users coins, will always be sold after the distribution.
Can anyone else provide some more insight into this? I know it already costs a good amount of bitcoin in counterparty fees so trying to do it more often then weekly could be an issue.
Your point might be valid if everyone's goal was to immediately sell out on distribution. I haven't seen this to be the case so far. Rest assured I'm monitoring the market very closely for patterns to develop. So far there haven't been any and it seems that most users are holding onto their LTBc.
Hopefully I'll have more data to go on as I add depth to the exchanges. I've only just started making markets for LTBc, so perhaps people were holding out because they simply didn't want to crash the market.

Re: [CLOSED][Auction] Air time on Let's Talk Bitcoin! Two 45 Second Sponsorship Slots for Episode #130 due to air 7/25. Auction Closes at 2:00 PM PST on 7/24! Current High Bid(s) 66,000 / 22,000 LTBc
@pinheadmz Why doesn't the podcast accept produced audio submissions? (Like :30 radio ads) There used to be ads like that on the show...
You'll have to wait for an actual response from @adam, however I would imagine that it has a lot to do with audio quality and stuff like issues in editing. You don't want to completely disrupt the tone and flow of the show with an obvious plug-n-play ad that sounds nothing like the rest of the show.

Re: Monopoly
Monopolies usually only last for a definitive amount of time before somebody comes by with a novel idea and steals the market away. It's only a matter of time.
I think the more we see the idea of decentralization gaining ground in society, the closer we will get to disrupting these monopolies out of pure principle.

Re: Bad Link: LTBCOIN REWARDS->EARN
Just to clarify, do you mean this page? http://letstalkbitcoin.com/ltbcoin-for-the-audience (looks like it needs some serious reformatting and a few info updates)
I think the current "EARN" link is supposed to go to that section since its people posting for hire ads/requests etc. for LTBcoin
You're right, I misread when I pulled it up. Thought it had taken me to the "Accepting LTBc for..." page

Re: LTBc Fantasy Football
I like football, but don't participate in any fantasy leagues. But hell, I AM a market maker, and I would love to be making those odds. I'll join if you need an 8th to make it happen, otherwise I'll just happily trade the teams.

Re: Melotic Issue
Thanks for sharing. I'm always a bit of an exchange skeptic so I've been waiting to hear news. I'm a market maker, so all my activity pretty much stays on their system. As such, I haven't had the opportunity to experience something like this yet. Glad it was resolved.
