• Re: My "Introduction to Bitcoin" Article

@sbatz72 Wow, this is quite an amazing article. I found this article to be quite informative. I to have a difficult time explaining what Bitcoin is and why people should use it. I think it is going to take over the world one day. I also think there are people in the world who are not going to like it too much when that happens. We shall soon see.

Thank you! We shall see, I am bullish on BTC, I think the bear year of 2014 is more or less over :). Gold built empires, Oil built them, now the next "empire" is the one leveraging the internet.

@xcoincall Great article. Extremely useful to share :). This will go into our sharing queue. Have you considered blogging more about Bitcoins? People will become more curious about Bitcoins, so the readership on this topic will begin to rise.

Hey, thanks for the kind words! I honestly do not have the most time available to me to properly dedicate time to blogging- I work and am busy with trying to finish my masters. I also write for the website mentioned in the OP.

Also, to properly blog about bitcoin I think I'd need to involve myself in bitcoin more than I have time for at the moment :P. There is movement down in SA, but currently the space is still very isolated from the rest of the world and even within SA-most of the Bitcoin developments in SA are located in places hundreds of kilometers away in our respective "silicon" valleys.

Which sharing queue are you talking about?

@bikergsx Good article, good to see the word is spreading down there in Southern Africa

Edit: It would be interesting to see what feed-back you get from your South African readers.

Thanks man. I'll be the first to admit that our readership is primarily gaming orientated, so I expect a lot of them to just read it and be curious or, more likely, indifferent. Even if only a few people enjoy it and it makes them read more about it I would consider it successful :P

The crypto people in SA is quite small-but there is some movement in the space.

• My "Introduction to Bitcoin" Article

Hey everyone, recently wrote an article for the website I write for in South Africa- basically my "Intro to Bitcoin" article for the website. I tried to keep it as simple as I could(for my own sake as well), focusing on its benefits over banks, it's reason for "existing" as I understand it as well as intrinsic benefits for people gaining control over their finances. I am not a coder, developer or have any history in IT professionally; I just like and review gaming technology and thought it was about time I spoke about Bitcoin. Obviously I could not talk about everything, as it was already quite a long piece, but I hope I got the "just" of it well enough.

So yeah, just thought I'd share what I wrote. Enjoy!

• Re: Get Some GPU's for cheap from Visiontek

@alchemix Ive been checking the site all day, but they have all been out of stock. I wonder if they had a few and i missed it OR was this just a ploy by VisionTek to build their email marketing list...

Oh well, i still have several R9's laying around so i might as well just build with those. Thanks again for the tip @Goefells

No problem dude, sorry that you missed it :(. Thought I might see if someone could get lucky since I am not able to!

I have never owned any VisionTek products but it that price is acurate, its definitely worth a shot

I heard about it here- http://www.gamersnexus.net/sales/1710-visiontek-old-amd-cards-for-1-dollar

• Get Some GPU's for cheap from Visiontek

Hey everyone, seems like visiontek are having a massive sale on their old outdated products-clearing out stock of old AGP and PCI express GPUs.

  https://www.visiontek.com/revisioned/revisioned-graphics-card-mystery-box-4k-5k-series-detail.html

The price? from 1$-3$! You get three different options, or mystery boxes- for 1$ you get the older AGP cards, then for 2$ you get the 2 &3 series cards, and then for 3$ you get the 4-5 series of cards.

I dont know about you, but 3$ for possibly getting a nice 5870/5850 GPU seems like a mighty fine prospect.

The problem is that Visiontek only seem to ship to USA and Canada, so it leaves me all the way in South Africa a bit out of luck.

If anyone would like to facilitate a purchase for me, I would be forever grateful- maybe throw you a 1000LTB coin tip as well :)

If not, for all the people who might want some cheap GPUs to build a secondary gaming PC for the kids/wife/charity, go ahead and take advantage of this special!

The kicker is only one mystery box per user, but you can each get one of each mystery box as well.
