My "Introduction to Bitcoin" Article

Hey everyone, recently wrote an article for the website I write for in South Africa- basically my "Intro to Bitcoin" article for the website. I tried to keep it as simple as I could(for my own sake as well), focusing on its benefits over banks, it's reason for "existing" as I understand it as well as intrinsic benefits for people gaining control over their finances. I am not a coder, developer or have any history in IT professionally; I just like and review gaming technology and thought it was about time I spoke about Bitcoin. Obviously I could not talk about everything, as it was already quite a long piece, but I hope I got the "just" of it well enough.

So yeah, just thought I'd share what I wrote. Enjoy!

  Thanks man. I'll be the first to admit that our readership is primarily gaming orientated, so I expect a lot of them to just read it and be curious or, more likely, indifferent. Even if only a few people enjoy it and it makes them read more about it I would consider it successful :P

  The crypto people in SA is quite small-but there is some movement in the space.

  Great article. Extremely useful to share :). This will go into our sharing queue. Have you considered blogging more about Bitcoins? People will become more curious about Bitcoins, so the readership on this topic will begin to rise.

  Hey, thanks for the kind words! I honestly do not have the most time available to me to properly dedicate time to blogging- I work and am busy with trying to finish my masters. I also write for the website mentioned in the OP.

  Also, to properly blog about bitcoin I think I'd need to involve myself in bitcoin more than I have time for at the moment :P. There is movement down in SA, but currently the space is still very isolated from the rest of the world and even within SA-most of the Bitcoin developments in SA are located in places hundreds of kilometers away in our respective "silicon" valleys.

  Wow, this is quite an amazing article. I found this article to be quite informative. I to have a difficult time explaining what Bitcoin is and why people should use it. I think it is going to take over the world one day. I also think there are people in the world who are not going to like it too much when that happens. We shall soon see.

  Thank you! We shall see, I am bullish on BTC, I think the bear year of 2014 is more or less over :). Gold built empires, Oil built them, now the next "empire" is the one leveraging the internet.
