    @notthensa @Cryptonaut thanks for the insite. now lte coins, i heard a lot about them. like there going to be the new btc coin, do you feel that to be true? i never researched them to much but it seems like the discustion is eaither really good or bad.

    you mean litecoin? definitely not. It literally is just a copy of the bitcoin sourcecode but a few minor adjustments made. also you can see all the different cryptocurrencies here: http://coinmarketcap.com/

    The market cap alone in bitcoin is 40 times larger than the 2nd largest coin (litecoin.. i dont count ripple). IMO, none of the copycat coins stand a chance. I think they will stick around though and have their own userbase etc., but I think that bitcoin is going to always stay the biggest

  • Re: ideas for a bitcoin video faucet

    @heartburn I used to use bitvisitor often in order to discover new sites on the Internet that use bitcoin. I got tired of filling out captchas, though.

    try out http://earnfreebitcoins.com similar to bitvisitor but its usually around 1 - 3 minutes per visit instead of 5 minutes. also it uses a different type of captcha which you can complete using just your mouse instead of typing random characters.

    Honestly, if you are looking to make money off of it...unless you have a TON of cash to invest in the latest hardware as well as access to cheap electricity its just not worth it at all to get into bitcoin mining. You are a couple years too late for that, the difficulty is so high that mining farms are pretty much industrial level operations now. You could probably still get into mining some altcoins without spending too much though

  • Re: Missing Counter Wallet Addresses

    This has happened to a few people already. Basically fairly early on they changed the algorithms used to generate private keys from the wallet seed. It is still possible to get those keys back though! See this thread: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/forum/post/counterwallet-nightmare-with-happy-ending

    the tool to recover your keys from the old seed is here:
    https://github.com/porqup1ne/CounterWalletHelper

    If you have no idea how to use that, you can send me a PM and I can help you get your keys back (I have the recovery scripts setup already, so it only takes a few minutes). Then you can import those into a new wallet.

  • Re: Viacoin Clearinghouse Token and Clearwallet ?

    @jsea

    @cryptonaut @jsea meh, I have hope that its possible :P although I have caused my brain to implode several times from trying to think of a feasible solution to it lol.

    One problem with something like a multi-wallet that handles several different types of coins/blockchains is that each new coin adds significant overhead. Extra servers, whole new blockchain you have to download and continuously monitor etc.. definitely doable though, just expensive resource wise

    Yes it's doable, exchanges have multi wallets, I'm not giving this too much thought but think something that integrates say counterwallet, clearwallet and dogeparty wallet would be useful. Nice if there was something that could at least display account balances in one spot without having to login to each individually.

    Indeed, that would be very cool. Im still crossing my fingers for someone to come up with a "CrossParty Protocol", which would allow assets to be transferred from one network to another, sort of like the Sidechains concept :p

  • Re: SPECULATE.XCP - Weekly Payouts!

    @ltb4me

    @cryptonaut @bitsol you dont need to use the quick buy option to convert XBTC back into normal BTC. You just need to send to the official vending address: 1XBTCxh9HdyQ4y5VMnTzPANZoZZvrMSA6 and after 4 confirmations they send the BTC to you automatically

    I havent been watching too closely to how things are going with vendd disabling quick buy, but do you know if that XBTC -> BTC address looks like it will remain active for a while? I'll convert my XBTC but dont want to do it frequently since I'd end up spending tons on transaction fees.

    AFAIK the XBTC -> BTC address is still active and no plans to disable it at all. You should be good!
