  • Re: Bad Link: LTBCOIN REWARDS->EARN

@belltown Maybe current page should be one of the links in http://letstalkbitcoin.com/ltbcoin-for-the-audience ? The most common scenario is that people want to earn LTBcoins by "Proof of participation", not by doing job for LTBcoins.

So this page http://letstalkbitcoin.com/ltbcoin-for-the-audience is much more useful, especially for the new people.

indeed. will have it updated and added to that menu shortly

  • Re: Token view Point.

You will be able to add multiple addresses to your accout. Only "verified" ones will work for the token based permissions. Verification is done either by signing a message with your address or by sending us a small token (can be a few satoshis even) payment to prove you own that address.

  • Re: EARNFREEBTC.XCP - Earn BTC with your CounterWallet

@jamesmm @Cryptonaut: Sorry, I see the link now in your first post. This is such a cool idea and a great domain name!

I'm just curious myself, where do you see this in three years? Is managing the site and asset/shares very time consuming? Or do you have it all kind of automated?

I also don't have much knowledge on Counterwallet, but very intrigued. Do you see it sticking around for 3 more years?

Well, its been going strong for over a year and a half already, no plans on shutting it down as long as im around and bitcoin is still around. Definitely a good domain name, thats why I got it :p I basically just saw bitvisitor one day back in 2012 and was like "hmm this site looks pretty popular and it looks pretty easy to build"... thought of the domain, saw it was available.. 2 or 3 weeks later and the first version of EFB launched.

Managing the site is pretty simple, its just a couple minutes per day checking for new links to confirm payment and approve. For the asset, I just add my total income (click/banner ad revenue and sponsored visit revenue) each saturday for that week and send it off as dividends with counterwallet. Requires a little bit of money moving around and waiting on block confirmations though. Im planning on making this automated, so all site revenue goes into a single pool which sends out to shareholders automatically every week or once it reaches a certian threshold.

Counterwallet isnt much of a concern either because they do not actually hold any funds and I have the private keys + main pass phrase for all my stuff on it. Its open source so if they shut down, a replacement could be put up very fast, or I could even set up my own local copy. Or I could take those private keys and import it into some other wallet

  • Re: EARNFREEBTC.XCP - Earn BTC with your CounterWallet

@jamesmm @Cryptonaut: Could you give us an idea of the recent payouts? Frequency and amounts?

Do you guys recommend creating a new address for each asset with in the Counterparty Wallet? Can you move BTC between addresses without fees?

See here: http://earnfreebitcoins.com/xcp#dividends payouts are made every saturday.

If you want more privacy, unique address could be useful. There are fees for moving between addresses though (needs to be encoded on the blockchain), so its not like your normal wallet

  • Re: Bad Link: LTBCOIN REWARDS->EARN

@belltown If you click LTBCOIN REWARDS PROGRAM -> EARN you will end up in the "Offering Bitcoin For" page instead of the "EARN" page. Please fix.

I'm helping several new people to create accounts on LTB and start earning "Proof of Participation". So this "EARN" page would be very helpful for them.

    Thank you!

Just to clarify, do you mean this page? http://letstalkbitcoin.com/ltbcoin-for-the-audience (looks like it needs some serious reformatting and a few info updates)

I think the current "EARN" link is supposed to go to that section since its people posting for hire ads/requests etc. for LTBcoin

  • Re: If your computer crashed now, how many coins would you loose?

nothing :) good ole electrum passphrase has saved me multiple times already

  • Re: What happens after the weekly disbursements?

@rockhoward In the podcast Adam mentioned that there was a pool of tokens allocated for forum posters but that the actual allocation was based not only on the number of posts, but also adjusted by the number of 'likes' that a post collected. That was it. End of story.

Since all distributions for forum posts are apparently ending sometime on Saturfay, additional details are not worth worrying about at this point IMO.

As part of the initial distribution, we set aside a portion of it for any forum users with 5 or more posts, but decided to split this across 4 weekly distributions in order to give people a chance to find out about it and also get their LTBcoin address setup in their account. Last one is this weekend.

The regular weekly distributions are based on your "Proof of Participation", which includes unique page views (pages you havnt visited already), forum posts, blog/article comments, magic words etc.

  • Re: LTB API and Magic Words

@adam @cryptonaut - do we have api documentation available?

I will have it publicly available sometime this weekend. At the moment, the API currently mostly just supports some basic account functions (registering/logging in, updating profile or settings, getting basic user info) and functionality for the blog (viewing or posting comments, getting article info/content etc.)

  • Re: Record my article(s) as audio.

@crimsonroze @cryptonaut What do we do when we have a recording? Can I update the article and add the recording to it?

For now, you can just forward the URL to the audio (should be an mp3 ideally) to me and I can update the post. Our posts do support audio links (which is where the audio for the media player and download links in the RSS feed come from), but currently most users do not have permission to edit their blog posts once published already.

  • Re: I (like) my posts

@rob But perhaps self-liked posts aren't counted in the LTB distribution calculations? I'd hope and assume @adam @cryptonaut didn't overlook this.

    self likes do not count
