  • Re: Bitcoin Script

Not gonna lie, I have no idea what you are talking about. What "bitcoin script" do you mean?

  • Re: My bitcoins payments aren't proccessing

You would have to contact whoever was trying to send you the coins that ended up getting dropped. This past week the bitcoin network has been seeing a massive amount of transaction spam (50,000 unconfirmed transactions right now... was close to 100K the other day), which has been revealing a lot of bugs in a lot of different systems and causing transaction delays for some people.

  • Re: Token Viewpoint - Forgot to upload image

Yeah, the image is actually for your token rather than for your forum, although that isnt explained very well and it does show up as your forum logo lol. You should see an option in your dashboard menu called "Asset Cache". Go to that and you should see OCTO or whatever token you used on that list and the ability to edit it, which includes uploading that image.

  • Re: Reddit having more problems

@pooktwo Oh wow! So paypal shut down services to voat? Am i to assume that is because of Reddit, or is it because of voats content?

I don't really know the exact whole story, but supposedly one of the mods at /r/SRS (shit-reddit-says, basically same thing as Buttcoin but for all of reddit...) went over to Voat and started posting child porn on some random small "subverse" (same thing as a subreddit), and then immediately reported it to Paypal, who then proceeded to shut down Voats accounts. Pretty messed up. Even though the admins would definitely have removed it ASAP (and have already I'd imagine), the fact that anyone posted that stuff on there to begin with is apparently enough for paypal to just be like "Nope.." and cut off any ties. Pretty disgusting tactic to attack a website, but an effective one I guess.

Heres an article I found on it: http://motherboard.vice.com/read/paypal-cuts-off-reddit-clone-voat-over-obscenity

  • Re: Reddit having more problems

Yup, we are witnessing the natural cycle of the internet :) Social media site / community gets super big, reigns supreme for a period of time until it begins losing the values that made it popular to begin with and starts to destroy itself from the inside, until a valid competitor emerges to take over. We saw it with the transition from Myspace to Facebook, and we saw it with the exodus from Digg over to Reddit like 5 or 6 years ago, probably some others which I'm not thinking of right now as well. Seems like it is already starting to happen to Reddit, but I guess the big question now is who will end up taking its place? A lot of people have been suggesting that voat.co site (basically same ideas as reddit), but their servers have been totally crushed for weeks now, I still haven't been able to get on there once.

Its also really interesting that as soon as a reddit competitor came out that people started to flock to (Voat), pretty quickly paypal and friends shut down their donations and are trying to cut them off completely. Now they accept bitcoin only. I think we are going to see more things like that, any website with user generated content that is not already heavily established and doesn't hardcore censor anything related to Operation Choke Point is going to be forced in to using Bitcoin in order to stay in business.

  • Re: Can't Fine The Founder's Forum!

@skwibity Ok, seems I'm verified. Now... can't find the founding forum lol

You need an EARLY token in order to access the founders forum :) I have a spare one which I just sent to you, so once that confirms you should be able to access it shortly after

  • Re: Devs and opinions needed for a podcast specific coin.

I would say it's a smarter idea to use counterparty or at least something bitcoin based rather then setting up some sort of POS alt-coin. It is much easier for people that are already into bitcoin to start up with your project, and frankly anyone new to cryptocurrency probably isn't going to skip bitcoin and go straight into messing around with various alts. Plus, if you create your own alt-coin, then it becomes more about developing the software for the coin, wallets etc.. and less about what you are trying to actually accomplish with the project.
