  • Re: Abusive Likes.

    @cryptonaut I went ahead and deleted all those accounts, so their likes wont even count lol. Pretty lame attempt if you ask me, the usernames and emails were super obviously fake...

    looks like I am going to have to add in email verification for all new accounts

    email verification does little to help against this. It's very easy to use throw-away-mails and just automate the verification process. Also, you probably need to be on the lookout now that the obvious names are done for. Next logical step is better name generation by means of name-dictionaries.

    @bcohen If corporations can be people...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2h8ujX6T0A

    why can't robots?

    The current paradigms are not the same as truth, so be aware that: while corporations might today be, in some places, considered equal to people it has not always been the case, and it might not always be the case in the future.

    So to answer the question you pose: The reason robots shouldn't be considered people while corporations, to some degree in some places are, is because they aren't people and they aren't corporations. They're different, and deserve to be valued on their own merits and given their own status and considerations.

    That said, I still can't endorse the idea of corporations being people, or legal entities that removes responsibility from the people that take decisions to.. money.

    @rob

    @crimsonroze If you'd like to discuss automated flagging systems then I have some thoughts to share from my time trying to design an anti-bot system for my games.

    My only qualifications are being a paranoid thinker, and listening religiously to a tech security podcast for years. But I'd be open to talking, if you think it would be of value.

    Ah. I was talking to @cryptonaut, but having a non-programmer looking at problems is always good as well.

  • Re: Abusive Likes.

    @rob It was only a matter of time. For instance, what if thousands of fake accounts came online per day (and they didn't use such obviously-fake forum names)?

    @cryptonaut I'm very interested in this as well. I planned some week back to write a theoretical article about gaming the LTB token system but decided for the sake of LTB not to give people ideas.

  • Re: Помогите мне купить телефон?

    @cefp Не увидел телефона по ссылке.

    К сожалению, через некоторое время я переписал предложение так он отображает USD ($) надеясь, что это будет принято быстрее.

    Вот текущий ссылка

    @cryptonaut @adam Maybe you fellas could help find the link for that spreadsheet?

  • Re: Quite discouraging

    @swimmer63 +1 for kereloops. I am not much of a writer but I think the whole design of this site is the amazing. It's an experiment I know, but you basically get paid on good your contribution is.....whatever it is. If it makes the site better - you get paid. No bosses to suck up to, no training, no staff meetings. Ingenious. There has to be a lot of businesses that could use a similar model.

    Actually. Like all non-automatic systems there is humans involved. And when there is humans involved, things tend to work in favor of those in charge. Not saying things aren't good over here, just saying they ain't perfect.

    And yes, I'd love to see the same model applied on multiple other sites and systems.

  • Re: What's your favorite Wallet?

    @g3ttoboy What if your wifi printer gets compromised? Then attackers will have your keys.

    Simple, dear @g3ttoboy:

    My printer does not have wifi, it is connected via USB. I powercycle it before and after duty and the keys are generated from an offline computer booted from a read-only medium using source code I've personally read through.

    Then what about firmware based attacks or physical wire-sniffers in my cables? Well, I don't have enough bitcoin to warrant protection against that kind of attacks yet, but rest assured that the day I do, the keys will be generated on different computers on different networks and put together into multisignature addresses and possibly copied into paper by hand.

  • Re: What's your favorite Wallet?

    @bitcoindaddy

    @crimsonroze I use bitcoinpaperwallet.com and Mycelium.

    Have you, or those you have given paperwallet, ever lost or accidently destroyed a paperwallet? Or do you just always store them in a safe deposit box?

    We always use two copies of the same address, print them on thick paper with water resistant ink and store them in two separate locations in plastic bags.

    As far as I know, we have never lost any money this way, but I know some wallets have had to be replaced due to management.
