Brian Cohen has a Masters Degree in Library Science which means he’s supposed to be a librarian…he’s not. Back when Brian was a mover and a shaker during the “Internet Bubble” he was a Business Development Analyst in charge of Competitive Intelligence for an Artificial Intelligence company called Webmind (a.k.a Intelligenesis). Webmind was supposed to predict the stock market and was to one day emerge as a global web of intelligence that was to transform the world. On August 4th, 1999 he bought the first T-shirt ever sold on CafePress. When his parents aren’t receiving phone calls from Microsoft, he likes to write articles on e-commerce. Brian’s first article on e-commerce "Reaching eBay Global Markets with the Help of PayPal Multiple Currencies" was published by Auctionbytes in December 2002. Brian’s news breaking stories have been referenced in numerous publications including CoinDesk, Bitcoin Magazine, The Register, io9, TechCrunch, Gizmodo, Vice, The Verge and PC World. His first Bitcoin article was “How PayPal Almost Liberated Cyprus.” He has been quoted by Reason, The Daily Dot and Tech Week Europe. If you ask him if he coined the term “iPod Classic,” he will tell you with a straight face that he did. He enjoys rooftop urban gardening.

Re: LTBCoin for SPAM
@troy112 The maximum no. should be increased, also the spammed post should be sent to a moderator for final review. Because people might just spam for LTBcoins or hatred. Also, we need a system to rate people who do incorrect spams. And after some time that person should be blocked.
No Moderators in my opinion as this seems to be aiming for an autonomous model.
Blocking only in extreme cases (defined as ?) as this may prevent someone from receiving LTBCoin.

Re: LTBCoin and the start of Private Network Tokens
The Subject of this post is also over at BitcoinTalk . I suppose Its not usually proper etiquette to post links on LTB Discussion board to other message boards.. but somehow this feels appropriate

LTBCoin for SPAM
I'm not sure if this would bring out "pitchfork mentality"..
But there should be ability to collectively mark messages as spam and earn LTBCoin for doing so.
A message should only be valued as Spam if 3 or more LTBers mark the message as Spam. The number of LTBers who have marked a particular message as spam should be hidden until it reaches 5.
The more that mark a post as spam the more valuable that spam post is to the Notifiers (those marking the message as spam).
Once a Spam message reaches 5 it gets placed in a "Bad Bear" (term I took from BitcoinTalk) board. LTBers could then have the have the opportunity to unmark the message as spam (double the number required to mark as spam ---to unmark as spam)
Those marking messages as Spam share in the LTBCoin SPAM Pool. However its tiered based upon the order of thos marking a message as spam (i.e. the first to mark earns a greater % of LTBCoin)
Adjust numbers accordingly. I am willing to brainstorm further on this idea --- its certainly not well thought out--- in particular how to unmark a message as spam and when it should be locked/unlocked
LTBCoin for SPAM!
Revison/ Additions: Maximum number of messages any single user can mark as spam must be defined: 3?
Updating to include Some Thread Comments
via Adam:
1 - A solid set of easy to understand rules defining inappropriate behavior within our community
2 - Allowing people to bet if a given post/comment/whatever does or does not comply with the rules. There is no advantage to betting it does follow the rules unless you think other people are incorrectly identifying it as a rule-breaker when it is not.
3 - Have non-controversial ones be settled automatically
4 - Have controversial ones flag a moderator who then does a rules-judgement, losing side donates their tokens to the winning side.
Via @Spengler I would be interested to know what sort of thing would be considered a spam post. Would it simply be "a post which is deemed inappropriate"? Would it include, for example, one which:
Adds insufficient value to the discussion? Is unnecessarily negative with no constructive purpose? Is abusive? Is too short? Is generally unpopular? Also, should we be on the lookout for users who simply make short posts all over the forum with not much real purpose (e.g. just saying things like "I agree")? Each post individually may not be spam, but people could easily gain LTBcoin with this behavior if nobody looks for it. I have made a short post myself which just said, "I concur", but I wasn't trying to spam. Perhaps a user's average length of post could be used as a metric, but this seems draconian.

Counterwallet Notifications and Discussion
So I guess we all will be using Counterwallet more now that we have LTBCoin in our virtual pockets.
Anyway I was logged in and reviewing my Sell for BTC and buy for XCP which has taken an inordinate amount of time and is still outstanding...
When I just noticed a Notification pop up (with an image of a Magic wand I think?) of
"Additional 6,936,666.9779 units issued for token LTBCOIN"
Anyway I only have a trivial amount of XCP and wanted to buy a block of 100 XCP (which I suppose is probably a trivial amount for some folks). It has sell ~10 days from now (@ block #XXXX how likely is this to execute? The market is moving all the time and these trades are fixed in proportion BTC/XCP
I also had an order match for the following
3656.88518812 LTBCOIN for 1 BTC
yes there is (supposedly) a way to trade LTBC for BTC in Counterparty/counterwallet
LOL! What's up with that?!!! LOL!!!
Should I just be doing this in Cryptsy? I really want(ed) to use Counterparty/Counterwallet so that I can familiarize myself with it by using it.

Re: Cryptocurrency Defensive Patent Aggregator
I'm curious what you think CoinSigner should have done / should do (Re: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/blog/post/mastercardfilesbitcoinpatent )
Would you have recommended that they file... but assign it to your organization? Or would you recommend against filing? Also can you find / point me to the actual filing? I checked PAIR etc. and I could not find the filing. Will you be contacting or have you contacted CoinSigner?

Re: Cryptocurrency Defensive Patent Aggregator
Yes, my thoughts were included in our newsbreaking article on MasterCard (which CoinDesk was kind enough to give us a "Hat Tip")
"One organization that might have the answer is the Cryptocurrency Defense Foundation. The foundation which began in April of this year describes itself as a “not-for-profit organization” and “Cryptocurrency Defensive Patent Aggregator.” In the spirit of Elon Musk’s Tesla it aims to “acquire cryptocurrency related patents and license them openly to all those who agree to not enforce their patents against other members of the cmmunity.” The foundation is supported by donations but appears to have received only one (bitcoin) donation on June 18th in the amount of 0.001 BTC or approximately 60 U.S. cents. Perhaps the Cryptocurrency Defense Foundation could become a tour de force by engaging the Bitcoin Foundation with its impressive bitcoin warchest or becoming a Committee within the foundation? "
http://letstalkbitcoin.com/blog/post/mastercardfilesbitcoinpatent
I almost contacted the crypto defense fund for comment on our article prior to publication...but in particular I didn't like that I had to do a Whois search on the website to see when the Crypto Defense Foundation was founded (i.e. transparency).
I broke nearly every (if not every) patent story related to Bitcoin in the past year +.... most of those have been on LTB..some on Bitcoin Magazine, EcommerceBytes and via Medium. I have been "news jacked" plenty of times (but that's another story). I am definitely looking for a trusted source to quote in my articles which are proprietary until they are published.
