I am not trying to be negative. I am just stating facts. Every time I get a new phone, I need to create a new account on every site that I had Google's version of Authy enacted on. This is maddening. Yet, another valuable lesson in why I should not leave coins lingering in the wallets on these sites.

Yes, it is kind of annoying... but more secure. Besides, how often do you change mobile? :-)
Be sure to have some one-time auth codes backed up, just in case.

My understanding is that Authy is a completely different app that is NOT made by Google. Google's authenticator app is called, Authenticator.

cant you just make a backup of your keys or something so you can load up the backup and not have to remake your accounts?

I don't think Authy has anything to do with Google Authenticator. I wouldn't use an exchange with out it.

Yes, that is what I was pointing out. They are two different apps that do very similar things but are created by different companies. ;)

Thanks I did not know they offered one time authy codes. I will be sure to check into the matter. I just changed my mobile like on a monthly basis, or something along that matter for awhile. Now, recently I have a 2 year contract. I guess I will be fine with all my authy codes from Google for quite some time.

This is another great idea. I am glad I posted this comment now. I was concerned at first. I think I will be looking into doing this in the near future. I only had one account with this last Google Authenticator. I decided to redo the account. Now, I will be checking into creating some sort of backup. Thank you for this great advice.

I understan this. I simply mistyped what I was trying to say. I was simply trying to abreaviate the word authenticator. I understand the authy app itself is made by another company all together.

That's what I thought as well. At least that's the first thing I'd try but I think when you generate the backup codes it says you can use them 4 times before needing to regenerate new codes.
