Favorite way to earn is to mine alternate currencies and trade into BTC. Good way to gather BTC quite quickly compared to directly mining BTC itself.
Second favorite way is winning it on betting sites. =)

@brkb I'd like to make a point for @phantom and others here who "make money" by "trading". There is no such thing as profit in trading. trading == speculation == you lose money
The fact that sometimes you win and sometimes you lose doesn't mean that you make money, it just mean that you're getting random results and randomness is fooling you. In the long run if you keep doing what you're doing you will be slowly loosing money because of trading fees.
Now once we established that: using a service for trading is even dumber then trading yourself. Why would you want to hire somebody to slowly lose your money over the long term??
I'm not sure if you thought this through all the way. If we take what you write to its logical conclusion, "there is no such thing as profit in trading", why, then, would anyone be trading?
Obviously some people are able to succeed at trading; markets are not a zero-sum game. Yes, people who are trading are technically speculating, but then so is everyone who owns any amount of stock, dollars, bitcoin, gold, or any asset (with maybe the exception of real estate, because it has actual use as a residence). The whole point of accumulating ANY of those is the expectation that the value will rise in the future/over the long term = speculation. The only non-speculative way to operate with money is to spend 100% of what is earned each month on living expenses.
Trading is a skill which involves understanding the market's conditions, and risks, as well as learning what position to take, when to take it, and when to exit it. People who can consistently hit only 30-40% of their trades can turn a profit, depending on the system and yes, fees.
Since the original premise is not really accurate, using a trading service is not necessarily dumber than trading on your own. In fact, one could argue that, rather than taking the time, effort, and energy required to learn and master a new skill, hiring someone with more experience and a history of success in generating positive returns over time would be the most intelligent thing to do.
After over 3 months of consistently day trading on paper, I'm still garbage at it. But, I've used 3 separate trading services with average returns of
