Hello,

What will happen after 5 years for LTBcoins ?

Will it die ? I can't really stand this after being around you guys, I'm already feeling I'm between my family.

I've read about that counterparty protocol at the docs, but I would like to hear more clarification please.

I think the community is growing well, the podcasts are awesome, I believe in the Let's Talk Bitcoin! project.

I love the concept of LTBitcoin but i think that we are in a very early stage. It's impossible to make prediction now.

Five years is the initial distribution period but the majority of it happens in the first three, right now we're in a "bootstrap" phase so the coins are finding homes with people who will care about their future. As we get further down this path it will actually cost LTBc whether from the audience or the creator to get promoted through the entire network because the LTBc acts as curation points and whether self curated (sponsored) or really curated (lifted up by many people).

So there will still be free LTBc, it'll just be recycled from some of the "sinks" we create to keep the "faucets" flowing

Once it becomes a closed system(end of distribution) there are number of things I believe you will see more of. Keeping in mind there will be far more users on the network then you see today. I see the LTBn as the News Corp. for the new world.

Tipping - You will have people tipping where needed to those people that put out great content. This will be both articles, podcasts, cartoons and forum posts. Those how put out great content will be rewarded where as those that submit crap won't get much.

The network will still have LTBc available to it to buy content(if they aren't getting enough submits) for the site via selling ads. I suspect there will also be some content that is only available behind paywalls be it on a membership or pay per use.

Content wise I believe you will still have everything that you have today but will also have video streaming(think youtube style) and full tv episodes/series that are also available.

Users will still get ltbc for posting in the forums via sold signatures. Look at bitcointalk where you can get paid for your signature or even here with Chain Radio who is already buying signatures.

@cyberclones, what we have now is very much not what we'll have then. People will be compensated based on their contribution, that will never change. Where the tokens come from will change, but that does not mean the end of distribution - just the end of new tokens, at that point the engine needs to be self sustaining and I believe we'll accomplish this.
