One of the things that is so powerful about the various cryptocurrencies is that they create various ecosystems of value that are expected to grow over time. Which coin do you think has the most attractive value for its use? In other words, which ecosystem do you think has the most staying power based upon its underlying value representation? Examples are:

  • bitcoin -- medium of exchange for goods & services (or something else)
  • safecoin or storj -- decentralized storage
  • Ether (ethereum) -- fuel for a unique smart contract platform
  • darkcoin -- anonymity for medium of exchange
  • LTBCoin -- cryptocurrency media engine

I feel like bitcoin is the obvious answer because it was the first in market which gives it the most media coverage and its market cap dwarfs the rest. As far as 2nd place goes I feel like darkcoin may take it over from litecoin due to the rise of scrypt asic sellers. And as much as I want dogecoin to go to the moon it's not happening.

bitcoin, since it has the best infrastructure. Most people heard of bitcoin, but not of the other coins, and there are already lots of merchants accepting bitcoin.

I think BTC is the most attractive and will be around for the long term. I do mine altcoin, because my rig is small. Those altcoins that are trading on the market are more profitable as far as BTC goes that I should mine altcoin and then trade it for BTC.

I think ether is based on a smart and innovative idea but I'm sure that the first place among cryptos will always be for bitcoins.

I'm going with Bitshares and their family of DAC's. I think the DPOS model will work well to motivate shareholders in any given DAC to contribute (better than all other offerings at least)

Litecoin is often overlooked but has the network effect on its dide. Its often included on new exchanges right alongside bitcoin.
