Hi everyone,

Brian here from Epicenter Bitcoin. We'll be recording an episode with Paul Brody who was in charge of Internet of Things at IBM until recently and launched this project there to use the blockchain to power IoT infrastructure.

It's a super fascinating topic, though we're much less familiar with it than with others. Any IoT enthusiast here with opinions on this? What should we cover? What are your views?

  I'm not sure I understand the question. Do you mean how do we deal with the recycling of devices? What does that have to do with IoT? That would seem to be a general problem related to the increasing number of devices.

  IBM and Intel (secretly) and MIT and DARPA Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in secrecy are all working on the blockchain developement. IBM's choice of blockchain design may well be the game changer.
  The internet of things (IoT) which means i3 and i5 processors in EVERYTHING with sensors which will total over 100 billion items added to the internet within the first few years (Matel is even putting it into Barbie) requiring communication and automimous intergration and security between the "Things" It is well established that this can not be done without the block chain. IBM is sellig the farm on this. Because the die for the processors are shrinking down to 10 nanometers adding a micro SSD drive still makes it 1/3 the size of a postage stamp. The estimates are that ALL THINGS will be intellegent in 8 years. Requiring secure and intellegent linking and comunication between ALL THINGS. IF IBM sets the standard as it did with the PC the world will be under one blockchain IBM's choice.

  The most important things to get PAUL to reveal 1 WHY is IBM interested in the blockchain 2 What is IBM's vission for the next 8 years 3 What are IBM's Milestones on research and deployment 4 What is the most important focus a developer or programer should focus on now.

  An IBM exec pointed out that Ethereum "have been great partners" and that "[IBM and Samsung] are forking Ethereum as part of [Adept]", so it occurred to me that IBM and Samsumg rather than relying on the ETH based Ethereum network may build there own, and that miners may potentially have 2 networks to choose from. This will push the Ethereum blockchain to dominance with over 100 billion devices and interface sensors in just a few years. With the PC IBM dominated the archecture With Watson IBM dominated the Hadoop and parallel processing archetecture. Now they are going after the blockchain. @Adam

  Corporate intellegence from ALL segments of the Corporate world and Goverment and LARGE investers will be listening to what Paul says. He may reveal what he should not. He has a habit of speaking and revealing too much, could be why he is no longer at IBM. I arranged the interview with him and Adam originally. @Adam
