Where is the latest weekly roundup? I spent yesterday trying to read as many of the old things on here as I could and then today decided to start catching up further but noticed the weekly roundups aren't being done anymore?

They are super valuable to help cut through the spam. Why are they no longer being done?

You mean the updates that were on the front page? probably the guy decided to do something else, or is busy with other things and doesn't have the time. That doesn't mean there won't be more in the future though, we'll have to wait and see!

    Ask @coinfire!

Guess it not only takes time to write, but you have to be actively reading the forum posts for the week.

I have no idea what is up. I submitted one over a week ago and I guess it just hasn't been approved. Everything in it is likely super stale now.

That is a real shame. The spam on this place is wildly out of control and ultimately is a major turn off.

Have you reached out to editors? That's a drag...

I haven't been paying a ton of attention to the spam. I definitely see it, but I pick and choose threads to look at (such as this one -- no spam here yet) and I usually don't get too turned off. Where are you seeing overwhelming amounts of spam? I guess it shouldn't be shocking that paying people LTBc to participate will bring in people who want to just get it with as little work as possible. Hopefully the new LTB forum system will help keep it at bay.

I have started turning off boards that appear to attract more spam posts to see if that can quell some of the noise but I can tell you that as a new user to join and see this much stuff to sort is EXTREMELY overwhelming and I suspect many aren't going to do so. They will just not come back.

I have been trying to read everything from the blog posts and looking at older threads and it seems like a core audience of people that were super active aren't as much so now and it seems they drop off as the spam gets out of control.

The one word, poor grammar posts are just a huge and massive turn off.

I'll filter some boards out and keep giving it a try. At least on bitcoin talk I don't see the same level of one word or three word posts repeated over and over and over.

@coinswatcher feedback is noted. well aware of the issue with the spam / nonsense posts that pop up all the time. Fixing up the forums, adding better spam controls and sorting, searching etc. is like the #2 development priority right now, so hopefully by the end of the year we wont be seeing complaints about these issues :)

Your right, several of the more active community members have seemed to have left (hopefully only temporary). Even @adam has rarely been on the forums lately, but I know he has his hands full right now.

As for the community roundup article.. not sure why that got missed. @rotalumis @cherapple ?

Looks like it got overlooked among the other stuff somehow. Sorry! I'll push it out now. These are usually easy edit jobs, so not sure how it got missed.

Good to see it is being addressed. I found that turning off some boards really helped a lot.

I am going to spend the week catching up some more and then write down what works for me as far as eliminating the spam and maybe share it in this thread. I can attest to just turning off some boards though.

Do the spammers seem to come from one geographic area or is it sort of an everywhere sort of problem at the moment?

    @coinswatcher sounds great.

Actually, the vast majority of the users that spam (or just post one or two word posts like you mentioned) are from users from indonesia, which is weird. Indonesia is also our #2 source of traffic next to the U.S, which is also strange. Not really sure what that means, I guess bitcoin is becoming pretty popular over there? I have even noticed that same phenomenon over the past ~6 months (huge traffic from indonesia) on other bitcoin sites that I run or manage.
