Hello I'm new to the whole bitcoin thing. I've been researching for hours now, and mining really got my interest. Has anyone tried using their hard drive memory as virtual memory to give the video card better performance ? I almost major in computer science so I'm a bit familiar with computers. Let me know. Also wanted to know about the Internet speed. Is there a specific rate of mbps of use to how much info your sending and receiving. Sorry for the inconvenience if this information is up here already. Going to explorer the forums now. Trying to make that digital money !

You will not get better performance from using a slow harddrive as a means to extend very high speed memory. You generally need only 0.25Mbps or so in order to mine.

Thanks for the info. I see your point it shouldn't make much of a difference since the gpu is doing all the work. Just read up now virtual memory is used for the computers RAM if its running low.

I think you are too late mate to mine using GPUs.
Now it's time for ASICs and Cloud mining, we the 1 Gh/s is around 4.5 - 3.3 USD
No way you will get this using GPUs anymore.
