Hello,

I'm Koji from IndieSquare, creator of first mobile Counterwallet. I was featured on XCP Weekly Update last week. (https://letstalkbitcoin.com/blog/post/xcp-weekly-update-8-the-first-counterparty-mobile-app)

Thanks for Robert for the amazing show by the way.

In the actual Skype interview with Robert, I touched a little bit on experiments people were doing with our mobile wallet but it did not make it to the actual podcast due to time constraint.

So, I thought I would share one example here and also I would love to hear what creative ways you are using Counterparty on mobile.

One example I have now...

TBMC(Tokyo Bitcoin Meetup Coin)

We created a token specifically for Tokyo Bitcoin Meetup group, the second oldest meetup group in the world, started by Roger Ver.(http://www.meetup.com/Tokyo-Bitcoin-Meetup-Group/)

Since the meetup group has become sort of popular, we have some congestion issues when we have special events, for example, with free dinner and/or drinks.

Although we wish to accommodate everyone, seats are limited and not everyone can get in. And we noticed that more active meetup members were often the ones that get left out.

In order to solve this issue and encourage regular participation in general, we started distributing TBMC for participants of regular weekly meetups. With TBMC, you will have priority access to special events and possibly other benefits we are still thinking of.

We are still one month into this experiment, but people are very cooperative and having fun with the experiment in my opinion.

So... something like that.

It could be a little thing like Robert being able to buy his favorite Spells of Genesis collaboration card on Swapbot even when he's on the go. I actually think that's pretty cool. (BTW, we are working with Spells of Genesis team, so when you play SoG later this year, you are using IndieSquare's wallet indirectly:) )

Hope to hear some interesting use cases with mobile wallet from you guys! We might reward cool ideas with some IndieSquare coin although it has no use right now:)

That's awesome news & and interesting bit about being the second oldest BTC meetup!

I'm glad you guys are working so hard on this mobile wallet. It was definitely needed. I am also glad to hear that you are working with SOG!

    Keep up the good work.

Yeah I actually stopped the recording before we began discussing the meetup @cointea1121 otherwise i would have put it in :( Next time I will stop recording the moment the guest hangs up and not a minute before lol.

It was a great conversation and the meetup idea is excellent. Though I do wonder this, how can you verify their wallet from the meetup? Im sure i could make a indiesquare ap appear to have the required token through manipulation.

This was one of the big things FLDC ran into when we had an early idea way back of being a meetup token, but that was the big issue. But there is an easy solution, signing messages from the mobile wallet.

That would make it incredibly easy to verify someone actually does have they wallet, a QR code message signing at the check in booth. Is this something you guys might incorporate with the wallet?

    Thanks for the comment.

Yeah, we are definitely working hard to make it better. We recently hired an engineer(and possibly one more) to speed up the dev.

If you come up with interesting use case btw, please share with us!

Oh so that's what it was lol

So for signing the message to verify the identity, I kind of understand your point and kind of don't. So if the access control is done by how many coins you hold in your wallet, then you can cheat it and pretend you have x amount of TBMC for example.

But if you require them to actually pay in the token to attend an event for example, then it won't be an issue? (This is more of the direction in TBMC's case and we are doing everything in person now:)) Or am I getting it wrong?

But, signing messages on mobile sure can be implemented and I think it's quite handy too. We are more focused on HD wallet, push notification and bug fixes now but signing function will probably be added after that.

@cointea1121 they wouldn't have to pay in the token, just sign a generic message at the check it booth from an address that has the token in it. Then the booth worker can just see if the message he/she signed came from an address that has the token in it for access.

Obviously this isnt a problem right now, as you can just have then show you their phones indiesquare ap and you will see if they have the token or not, but in the future in might be handy :D
