TITcoin - Your thoughts?

I have been mining and trading Bitcoin for the past couple years and until recently have been able to make a nice little bit of profit from time to time, however I feel that the activity of Bitcoin mining is coming to a close - it is now somewhat unfeasible for the majority of people to mine and as such I am always on the lookout for a new crypto to mine.

I prefer to stay away from non-SHA-256 coins since I have invested a great deal in Bitcoin mining equipment.

Announced some time ago, TITcoin launched in June and I have been mining on and off ever since and have now accumulated quite a stack of the currency. I plan to hold on to it while watching it's value increase and decrease, at the moment though it is pretty worthless.

Seeing as though it is intended to work for the porn industry I speculate that as with anything that the adult entertainment industry backs, TITcoin could become quite valuable over the next few years. Either that or it will simply crash and burn as many crypto's seem to do.

What are your thoughts on this particular, Bitcoin based alternative?

  There are plenty of altcoins that are created every day, the main characteristics which can make a coin survive are its community and the technical innovation it brings. TITcoin has something new in it or it's just a clone?

  @soccruo The TITcoin community is growing, and while I don't think its is carrying any particular technical innovation, the fact that it is a method by which people can obtain adult materials without the use of credit cards, and the act that currently TITcoin is easy to obtain (and cheap) it could push it forward quite quickly.

  @Antares88 PornHub doesn't actually have a TITcoin, they just created that videohtat is still doing the rounds, which is not an accurate representation of how TITcoin works. Shame, my missus could make me rich AND drunk if TITcoin worked that way! lol

  That's a problem, nowadays with infinite ALTCoins being released on a daily basis, only those with tech innovation or particular purposes are worth something. If TitCoin spreads as a payment method for adult material then it may survive on the long run. But to me the project seems quite dead. Also checking the exchanges supporting it, I see that the trade volume is super low :(

  An example of a good cryptocurrency bringing technical innovation and an ecosystem of new services? Take a look to BlackCoin :)

  TITCoin is growing? Is it really? All I see is a stale BTT thread and a dev that doesn't communicate as often as he probably should.

  I think that it would be more simple and reliable to simply install a bitcoin widget, but if you really want a separate coin then a counterparty asset would probably be the way to go. Rewarding users that are active on a site with an asset that could be spent on premium content could be very lucrative in this industry, and if the asset could be bought with a credit card in a way that's harder to trace, that's also beneficial.

  I have to agree that the environment that is created around a cryptocurrency (marketing, use, trade volume, innovation) is what makes it or breaks it in the long run...
