  I heard part of the story is the cop actually got a police metal last year for saving someone in a similar situation. Not saying this was right, just saying he may have ptsd issues. He is actually being charged with crimes for this.

  Yes, it's not so simple as to say the police are just plain bad. The context of the problem is enveloped within the the times we live in; a loss of values I think.

  I wonder how much local news coverage this story got at the time it happened? I wouldnt be surprised if it got less coverage than a WalMart opening... We certainly have a police training issue in this country, but more alarming and importantly, we have a media problem.
