Damn NY state does not understand what this will do to innovation in the state, it will drive jobs away people will not be able to express themselves as they should. Source code should be protected under the first amendment, Bitcoin will route around these issues creating a black market in NY which will only make it harder to enforce these laws and licenses. The people that will be hurt the most are the people trying to use Bitcoin for legitimate commerce. Contact your local representatives and help them understand that this is not a money laundering issue it is a personal freedom issue!

I'm not sure, but I host a local Bitcoin meetup here in Syracuse and have been to many in neighboring towns Rochester, Ithaca, Utica, etc. I plan on organizing some events regarding the issue and disseminating information to all of the local groups once I have had some more time to wrap my head around the entire proposal and hopefully come up with some real solutions to appease the powers that be,
