Hi all,

I would like to ask for your advice. I wish to setup a Bitcoin tipjar on my website today. My blog is wordpress powered, so if there are any plugins you've had success with, I would be curious to know about them.

Additionally, if a plugin is not the best solution, what sort of 3rd-party service can I link to? I think this should be as easy as putting an image in the sidebar and showing my wallet address, but I want to make it easy for everyone.

do you care about knowing what pages or posts the tips came from? If not, you could just make a new bitcoin address and paste it wherever for the easiest solution

I think that would be incredibly interesting. It would be nice to see who contributed the most, what kinds of discussions encouraged the most tipping, and so on. Obviously that would be a more complicated solution, more than I can do, but it would be really nice.

It just depends on what kind of scale we are talking about here. If you are pumping out tons of content, you might want some automated way to generate addresses (or pick from a pre-generated list) which could attach to each page or post.

Otherwise, what you could do is just generate a unique bitcoin address for each page you want and either assign a label to it (if your bitcoin wallet has this feature - like Electrum) or setup a spreadsheet for tracking whats what. A bit of a manual process, but its doable

dirtyboots702, I am not aware of coinbase or what they do? The goal is to recieve Bitcoins at my wallet address, and I'm not sure why there needs to be a middle man, unless they have pre-generated code.

Otherwise, I can use my ads plugin to ask for donation in each article, and those could be tracked. While that's not entirely what Cryptonaut is saying, I would at least get to see which article are generating the BTC donation.

understood. I only brought up coinbase (exchange website) because from what I understand, they allow micro transactions with no fee through their wallets. A lot of podcasters use it for tips so Im thinking there is some way to mark what content people tip, even if its a manual entry

Oh, I see. Well, I'm not interested in exchanging the Bitcoins, only collecting them. At least, for now.

This plugin generates a unique address for each post so you can see which ones are performing the best:

    Hope this helps!
