@rob I'm sure something else has scared me more, but distressing was mysteriously losing 1 BTC from my 2FA Blockchain.info wallet. The Bitcoin went to another address for one day (no other funds at that address), and then moved to a massive address (I think 100K+ BTC), which had been discussed on different forums as being connected to other smaller Crypto thefts (but not Blockchain thefts). I still have no clue how that happened, though it was before Heartbleed was discovered. I was disappointed that Blockchain support was not very helpful.

I also ever like it, but I did not lose that much, and I use a highly secure 2FA, but somehow my bitcoin is lost, and it happened twice.

Scariest moment (about 2 days): Bought a miner (pre-order). When it arrived I spent 2 days trying to figure out why I was only getting about 10% of the expected hashing power. Thought I bought a lemon. Finally tried switching pools and I was away to the races.

When my wife said "Your obsession with bitcoin is ruining our lives." My arguments seemed to back her case in her mind.

I haven't had one. I was on Poloniex when it got hacked and lost some BTC, but i got that back, I think. I always have in the back of my mind that I didn't get it all back, but I have no proof of that and no one else seems to be complaining!

First, when I lost buying opportunity in last quarter of 2013 when BTC was under $100 and then shot up to $1100. I had something around $200 in my exchange when the price shop up to $1100!

I was actually looking at the freaking price ticker and was hoping it would settle and give me a chance to buy, but that never happened.

Second, when I lost Bitcoins in 2-digit amount on Gox. Call it a sad story.
