  I don't fully understand the ramifications of this but it sounds like bad news. Especially for Satoshi. I wonder if this will negatively effect the price. Its at 468 now.

  I didn't read through all the BitcoinTalk thread, just skimmed the first page. Is it clear the email was hacked, rather than another explanation of how someone was able to control this account? And if it was hacked, is there reason to believe the account would necessarily lead the hacker to Satoshi?

  EDIT: Never mind, saw a bit more, that the hacker was able to access older emails, etc. Crazy stuff!

  Currently reading through all the bitcoin talk pages. If the hacker had posed as Satoshi and said something along the lines of "I am going to slowly sell all of my coins before December to help with adoption" he could have crashed the market. Lucky the posts are vague and hopefully just for a laugh. Everyone now knows the email has been hacked so the hackers powers a limited.

  This is from BCT "That hacker could have seriously made some money. He could have shorted bitcoin and then announced that he is going to sell 50 thousand bicoins all at once, because he wants the community a heads up.. Maybe its good that we know his account is compromised, he could have caused some serious damage.... let a lone a good joke..." They could have walked away with potentially millions in a day. If you shorted with maximum leverage.

  MSM will get this story, run it like you wouldn't believe just to cause more damage and prices will decline.

  There is this too http://pastebin.com/2EW6VWcG it has an address but I Couldn't find it on google maps. Do we have a screens show showing e-mails from 2010? Some are speculating someone just reactivated an expired account too.
