okay I can speak on this extensively.

So for block erupters - I make these here: http://honeybadgerofmoney.com/product/block-erupter-lapel-pin/

Recycling dead block erupters into lapel pins to be fasion statement peices.

Now for my Gen 2 Avalon - this is probably a no-go for launch. I do have some FPGAs too. For a little while last year I was recommending for everyone to start mining alt-coins using ispace.co.uk. However, for a while I"ve stopped doing this as I've found that none of the alts can yield me much of anything. For instance - I could maybe get .02 or .03 per day mining all my hardware towards alts when I kept it, but I was able to pull something like .20 otherwise. There is really no firm alt coin market so mining profitable or even low difficulty alts is a complete gamble. (I've sold a large portion of it and have since moved onto focusing on my website mentioned above)

I see a future where these old hardware are still utilized by different (work per block reward: for hire) DAO creators who seek distributed computing. As it stands there is no future for them, but perhaps there will be if we are successfully able to create this distributing computer mechanism cheaper than existing things like Amazon S3 for instance.

Hi, I'm looking for 1200 kW of outdated bitcoin mining hardware. The GH/kW of the hardware isn't particularly important but it must be able to mine and come complete with UK compatible power supplies. Most importantly I need all this hardware super cheap / completely free but will cover costs for and arrange removal / collection. I'm happy to collect in smaller chunks so if you have 100kW plus of outdated bitcoin mining hardware that you want rid of please drop me a message. Thanks

Ok so this should now be a lot more interesting. I now have a budget in the hundreds of thousands to spend on outdated bitcoin mining hardware, please spread this message about; I need 2 Mega Watts of equipment!

This is a great opportunity to shift a huge quantity of equipment that has outlived it's useful life and which is now too inefficient to mine. To clarify 2 Mega Watts is 2,000 kW which is 2,000,000 watts. It's the power draw that we are interested in not the hash rate. The hash rate is just an added bonus.

Ideally looking for all rack mountable miners but this is not critical. Ideally need power supply's and controllers included, if these can be provided we are happy to negotiate a higher price. I understand that this is a very large quantity of miners, please only get in touch if you have a significant proportion of the whole quantity, let's say 500kW or more.

I don't pretend to know anything about miners or ASICS, but would it be possible to design one with end of life repurposing in mind? I participate in Foldingcoin, and having all that hashing power out there operating in an arms race of short term greed, only to then be essentially thrown away is such a wasted opportunity to do genuine good that it feels borderline immoral.

How about using some of these old mining rigs as a means to introduce bitcoin and decentralized networks to kids? Someone with basic knowledge of how bitcoin works could use these old rigs for a hands-on demonstration as an introduction into decentralized networks. The mining rig itself would be a way to involve the kids, gain their interest as this computer generates coins, and create a segue into the concepts of decentralization, money, etc. Growing up I never had interest in the topics offered up by the public school system but one assignment in college changed all of that and led me to dropping out of school. That assignment was reading the book "Rich Dad Poor Dad". Somebody could easily create an introduction class centered around these old mining rigs to break our youth free from the paradigm which our education system entraps them within.
