Here is a great pod cast on the subject although its in the context of Ethereum, the principals are equally applicable to LTB or any crypto platform.

  Shows that crypto currency technology replaces the need for human trust by using self enforcing smart contracts. But, after listening to the whole presentation, goes into more than just that. Ebay reputation, insurance and reputation. Gets rather abstract at times, but interesting. Thanks for the link.

  There's also some interesteing discussions about initial reputation ideas based on proof-of-investement into identity that has a chance to make a dent in spam-fighting, over at bitcointalks page about BitID.
