  @jamesmm I've always used Coinbase, but I just purchased a small amount of bitcoins and I won't receive them for about 7 days they say. Normally it's 4, but I guess due to holiday/weekend it's getting pushed even further.

  Coinbase is good enough for me.

  I haven't tried it yet but I think you can actually buy Bitcoin through the ChangeTip.com site, the purchase is via Automated Clearing House (ACH) from your bank account and it looks like they use a service called Knox, sounds like the fee is $0.18 per transfer;
