I realized I never format my posts, and part of the reason is I didn't want to screw it up and have to edit and re-edit on a live post to get the formatting right. So why not dedicate a thread to practice formatting posts, without worrying about people paying any attention?

  protip: Underneath the post reply button there is a note that says "use markdown formatting for post...". Click the link it shows and it will expand a quick overview of markdown formatting (the text formatting function we use, same as what reddit uses).

  we are going to be adding more tooltips and things like that since a lot of people dont really know it very well yet

  we are going to be adding more tooltips and things like that since a lot of people dont really know it very well yet

  I always use this as a reference. Plus it's cool to know what is allowed in terms of formatting to make posts look good.

  Thank god I'm not the only one!

  I've been struggling with formatting, even with the help of the "formatting guide". Honestly, it's actually kept me from posting as much.

  We're not alone though. There's a social anxiety forum where people have anxiety about posting. I wish I were kidding...

  @Crypronaut I feel like I'm flying blind. I'm used to previewing my post before publishing it. There's that, and I've never used markdown before (and maybe I have some perfectionistic tendencies).

  ask and you shall receive :) there is now a "live preview" box underneath the post form which shows you a live preview of your post as you type.

  Ok. so this might be a good place to request features, too, right?

  For example, I would like to have my text flush left.... or flush right... or centered.

  Or even have my signature formatted...

  feature requests can be done in the LTB platform support board.

  also your signature uses markdown formatting as well, same as posts etc.
