The way I usually listen to LTB is to download a podcast to an mp3 file, put it on a flash drive and listen to it in my car while I'm driving. This used to work fine, but now when I turn off the car or radio, instead of starting where I left off, the audio backtracks about 15 minutes so I have to listen to the same 15 minutes all over again. If I don't have a long sustained car ride I never get to the end of the podcast and eventually give up. This just started happening a couple of months ago. I don't have this problem with any of the other podcasts on LTB - just the main Lets Talk Bitcoin Show. I've listened to almost every episode and I love it, but it's a lot harder to listen to the show than it used to be. Does anyone know if there's anything I can do on my end so that the player remembers where I stopped listening instead of backtracking 15 minutes or so?

Did it start happening a couple months ago, or around the time of the website relaunch just before Oct. 1?

If your downloading the MP3 directly then that is very weird... what app are you using to listen to it?

It might have been around Oct 1 when I first experienced the problem.

I have a little USB port in my radio. When I plug a USB drive in it with mp3 files on it, it recognizes the mp3 files and starts playing them.

Yeah, around Oct 1st was when we upgraded the site to the new design, but all the podcasts are all still hosted on Soundcloud, nothing changed there, so I don't really think that would be the issue especially since you are directly downloading the MP3 files. @adam maybe something changed with how you are doing editing/postprocessing on your episodes?

I just downloaded some 4 month old episodes, and some recent episodes, to inspect them and see if I can see any differences. I was thinking there might be tags that hinted the content was music (players tend to start from beginning) or podcast, etc. (players tend to start where left off). But the tags are the same. So it's a tough to spot what has changed.

Just as a random guess, Adam uses Adobe Audition, and it's possible he upgraded to CC 2015 a couple of months ago, and it's possible it saves the MP3s differently, for some unknown reason.

I use podcast apps, and they always start where you leave off.

I just listened to LTB #264 and stopped the podcast several times and it remembered where I had left off each time. So you must have recently done something that fixed the problem, which makes it much easier for me to listen. Thanks very much.
