Email-forwarding service Composed aims to help the global fight against spam by making senders pay a small fee in bitcoin or fiat currency to ensure their message gets through. The service's creator says the method also compensates receivers for having to spend time reading email from strangers.

Maybe this is the new way to stop spam. But I wouldn't want my friends to have to pay to mail me. Or if you want answer from a company or similar they won't email you back if it costs. But maybe there's a way around that. But then again if there is it won't take long for the spammers to go round it....

Also an interesting read on the protocol level:

Zimmerman (PGP), Levison (Lavabit), release Secure Email Protocol DIME. DIME is to SMTP as SSH is to Telnet

This is very interesting... It seems like you could use this on your website for people who are trying to contact you (someone you dont know lets say) without giving away your real email, because the service will simply forward the message to your real email after the funds have been paid.

So you actually still just use your real email, this is basically a middle service. I like the idea though :) I will not be using it right away, but i have created an account

This is so true. The spammers and hackers are constantly working on the bad deeds, as those of 'us' who are working on the good deeds, well honesty. I would like to see the day that we, anyone in law enforcement-around the world-catches the thieves that hit Gox, Bitstamp, and all the rest.
