It was the first thing that came in to my head. I have a habit of making really bad usernames.. I have even used girl usernames in the past lol.
My avatar and sig is Ernst Junger. A WWI German war hero. He was worshipped by the Nazis and offered a seat in the Reichstag. He turned it down. Junger did not like riff-raff so thought little of the Nazis, consequently he was the only writer openly criticizing the Nazis from within Nazi German and about the only person Hitler would not touch. Junger was closely linked to the Hitler bomb plot and was still left untouched by Hitler.
A similar thing happened after the war when the communists gained some power, again Junger was untouchable as the communist leaders held the same reverence for Junger as the Nazis did.
That is a good story, but not the reason I like Junger, he was a Nietzschean/Stirnerite writer, that is what I like. Junger, Nietzsche and Stirner were all radical individualist thinkers, it's the nuance and understanding of the world from the perspective of individualist understanding that made Junger so great at moving effortlessly through the times he lived, I believe.
