About Let’s Talk Bitcoin Since its inception in April of 2013 Let’s Talk Bitcoin has produced a popular series of podcasts, videos, and articles that cover the ongoing developments in the Bitcoin eco-system. Adam B. Levine, Andreas Antonopoulos, and Stephanie Murphy are the most well-known contributors at Let’s Talk Bitcoin, but the network is comprised of a multitude of freelance (autonomous) editors, contributors, and sponsors, plus their rapidly growing audience.
About LTBcoinThe idea behind LTBcoin is to generate a finite number of coins and then distribute those coins over a five year period based on a pre-defined distribution protocol. In this manner, contributors, members of the audience, and every other stakeholder can earn LTBcoins while maintaining a vested interest in the overall health of the network.
Proposed Distribution StrategyCurrently it has been proposed that a total of 510 Million LTBcoins will ever be circulated. LTBcoin will be issued using the CounterParty protocol so the validation and verification of the public asset ledger will reside on the Bitcoin blockchain (LTBcoin will not have its own blockchain).
LTBcoins will not be mined using algorithmic computations like most crypto-currency. Instead, LTBcoins will be distributed based on a “Proof of Work” concept, in which the “work” will be contributions of valuable content, editorial services, project leadership, tipping, and many other value-added activities that will benefit the growth and sustainability of the network.
Here is the proposed distribution breakdown: 60% of new LTBcoins will be distributed to ACTS (Autonomous Content Teams) who successfully publish media on the LTB Network
25% of new LTBcoins will be distributed to the audience through giveaways, promotions and Game Shows
10% of new LTBcoins will go to fund the platform which includes but is not limited to distribution (radio broadcasting fees, off-network advertising, mobile applications, platform improvements, maintenance legacy network inclusion funds, etc)
5% of LTBcoins are to cover administrative costs, insurance, accounting, lawyers, and essential staff
It is worth noting that the highest percentage of LTBcoin distribution will be in the first year, and distribution volume will progressively decline over subsequent years.
Proof Of Work At the outset, most LTBcoins will be distributed to individual contributors using a "Proof of Publishing" model that is based on the value of any given contribution using a pre-defined rewarding mechanism. As the LTBcoin network grows, participants may be able to earn LTBcoins through any number of provable actions that are considered valuable by the network. To what extent any contribution will be rewarded is currently up for debate on the forum.
LTBcoin and SponsorsSponsors will need to acquire LTBcoins in order to purchase sponsored ad space on the LTB Network. Sponsor demand should help establish a market value for LTBcoin. It is anticipated that LTBcoin will eventually trade on one of the major crypto-exchanges like Crypsty and/or any of the others deemed suitable.
In the words of Adam B. Levine, Editor In Chief of Let's Talk Bitcoin,
“What we're doing here has never been done, it's an experiment. It could fail and the tokens rendered worthless. But that's actually not a different outcome than any other point in the history of Let's Talk Bitcoin, and I'm not much afraid of failure any more.
If on the other hand we succeed, even the success of a minority of shows or stories will drag up the value for all holders of the token no matter how they acquired it. Because we can set the course of our own economics, we will create incentives that reward this behavior for the individuals who achieve it.
Warning: Please consult your local mutual funds adviser, Wall Street investment banker, Ben Bernanke, Max Keiser, and everyone else you know before embarking on any investments, or before making any decisions for yourself (for your own safety of course : ).
