So I was looking through the forums and haven't found a topic suggesting changes to make LTB a better experience for everyone. I do see individual topics for specific ideas, but not one topic that goes over every single idea in one thread. So I will begin by suggesting a few things I think will make the forums better:

  • Have hotlinks from posts and comments open in a new tab
  • Have the ability to change the various threads to a "list view" so you can see a lot more threads then just about 4 at a time
  • Have the ability to order threads in descending order per last comment, most views, most replies

Sometimes I fear that I am double posting a thread, but it is hard to look through them all to try and find the correct one to post in. This can create split posts with questions being answered long ago, but then a new thread starts about the same topic that might have already been answered.

Thats all I got for now. And obviously its easier for us the users to suggest things than for them to be created, and LTB does a fantastic job of releasing features and updates constantly.

Yep, good suggestions. There is also the github here: https://github.com/tokenly/tokenly-cms/issues

    How about this:

I've changed the name of this board to "LTB Platform Development & Support". Also stickied your thread :)

So basically what bitcointalk.org has? In that case, also include a "go to last post" button.

When you "quote" someone, it brings you to the line right below the >>> symbols be default. however, if you are directly below the > then it shows your response as if it was in the quote from the person you are quoting. So you have to make sure that you leave a space between the > and you comment. This is something i see alot of people do. Is this an easy fix?

    Thanks :D

Thoughts on how to improve the over all Lets Talk Bitcoin space...

1: through out the current user experience model

    • it is way too structured and does not serve any meaning purpose other than to encourage 'playing card' titles to front end documents - text or video

2: represent 'content' more like LinkedIn where authors have profiles and can then 'associate' with other authors and or content articles independently of the author

    • example, I might choose not to follow Charles Hoskinson profile but yet want to link from my profile to one or more pieces of content that he authors

    --

On the back end if, people and content were represent as JSON document, meaning loosely coupled and attribute flexible, then 'tags' could be used to search or retain links that would in effect 'build' my view of the Lets Talk Bitcoin world say each time I login, or cache it is some way.

    --

I find Lets Talk Bitcoin a great idea but hugely constrained by the user experience.

    Thoughts more...

Focus more on how to syndicate or roll out the 'payment for participation' model to frameworks like WordPress.

I would go further and use WordPress for you platform . That would force the thinking on syndication or federation of LTBcoin.

The value proposition with LetsTalkBitcoin is currently narrow. The big idea is LTBcoin and this needs to benefit bloggers at large.

    I have said this before...

Actually, our platform (the CMS, not necessarily LTB) is going to be competing with wordpress, and at this point it would be a massive amount of work converting features we have built here into wordpress plugins. However once all of our APIs are available, people can take those and incorporate similar features into other systems.

As far as the UX and design stuff goes, we are in the process of hiring somebody to create a full redesign of the website, so that should all be addressed in the coming months.

    Hi Crypto,

Ahhh, competing with Wordpress is a terrible idea!

People use Wordpress for many reasons, you guys not CMS people, you should be spending energy of on extending open source systems and not competing with them.

I am not being personally difficult with you, but that is simply the worst idea I have heard.

One of the reasons people choose Wordpress is for themes... this is not your business and there will not be the enough group theme developers to move your ideas quickly enough forward.

On the other hand, if you do this... then other developers should take your idea add it into to Wordpress... and use Bitcoin, Doge, or Ripple micro payments. :-)

Additionally, as a platform - it would of interest if you were to open the payment coin to any coin rather LBTcoin if you plan to release the software for general adoption outside of your websites use.

Actually, I have built over a dozen wordpress sites before at my previous day jobs, built custom themes and plugins for it, and have done various work on dozens of other wordpress powered sites. I'v gone pretty deep through most of the source code, even directly integrating it into an entirely different framework and mimicking the user registration and authentication functions (don't ask...). Wordpress is good for some things, but as a programmer, I would go as far as saying that WP is an abomination.. the code behind it is pretty much the epitome of why many people consider PHP to be a terrible language.

I would also argue that it is straight up irresponsible to use wordpress for anything that directly connects to and manipulates a bitcoin hot wallet. WP sites are notorious for getting hacked and being massive spam targets, and it doesnt help either that most people use a variety of random 3rd party plugins. Just sayin'

You could definitely say that I'm a "CMS person". I came into this as a contracter for my website development business. I've built a few custom content management systems before and have worked with several others both open source and closed source systems. The goal also isn't really to get as many websites as possible using our system and try and totally overtake wordpress or something like that... it's more just building an open source platform for us to use building and releasing our own projects. If people like it and want to use it for building their websites, that's awesome, but we have so many project ideas in the works that it doesn't really matter.

LTBcoin is just the experimental community token for LTB. There is going to be a different token which we will use across our ecosystem of projects, and many projects will likely have their own specific tokens as well.
